The Flood InkaMInti
From tho Atlanta Herald, 4th.
The damages by the freshet to the
Western and Atlantic ltoad have all been
repaired, and trains are now running reg
ularly. It was interesting yesterday
evening to witness the getting ont of the
shops of all the elegant sleeping and
drawing room oars that have been delayed
bore by the breaks. They were plaoed
in line last night, and all is now lovely
for travellers. We took a glance at the
Western A Atlantic Depot late in tbe
evening—Wrenn was happy, Flynn was
happy, Grambliog was happy, and
Beardsley, tbe train diBpatober, was smi
ling all over. Passengers can now secure
liokets North, Booth, East and West by
the Great Kenneaaw Bonte.
Special to tbe Atlanta Nowi.]
Chattanooga, Maroh 3.—Tbe Moun
tains of Tennessee have been very kindly
supplying water to ns for a number of
days, in fact to snob an extent that the
whole lower part of ths oity haa been sub
merged, but tbe water is falling and all is
beginning to look right again, although
business is still suspended. Everybody
is oheerfnl, and many oomioal sights are
seen where parties are winding in and ont
between the submerged houses in canoes.
The water is receding, and will in a few
days, at the present rate, havu resumed
Us oourse down the Tennessee, which at
present is miles wide at this- plaoe. The
disasters on tbe Western and Atlantio
Bailroad have, to a great extent, oansed
the suspension of business, but hands all
along this end of the road are busy re
pairing the damage. The rains yester.
day washed away somework dona towards
repairing and building the destroyed
bridges, and also some parts of the track
whioh had been repaired. S.
