JAIL BREAKING FRUSTRATED.

rills, the condemned murderer, vest, relay
exposed a plot of prisoners to escape from
jail. Three white- prisoners Km Robin
son, Joe Adams and Frank Edwards hud

The plan was to attack the jailer when

from him the key to the gate. With the
key in their possession they i x pec ted that
escape would he easy. When the jailer
went to Cluverilis’ cell, Cluverius handed
him a J10 note, with the request that lie
get It changed for him. As he handed the
money to the jailer, he said:
"Look at thal note carefully on the in
side and see if it is a good one."
The jailer put the note into his pocket,
and when he reached his home at night he
discovered a piece of paper wrapped with
the note, On this paper Cluverius had
