Soothinu SYHl’l* should always be used
when children are cutting teeth. It re
lieves the little sufferer at once; it produces
natural, quiet sleep by lelieving the child
from pain, and the little cherub awakes as
“bright as a button." It is very pleasant
to taste. It soothes the child, softens the
gums, allays all pain, relieves wind, regu
lates the bowels and is the best known
remedy for diarrhiea, whether arising
from teething or other causes. Twenty-

(Die of the queer cases of domestic infe
licity which will soon be trieu on a divorce
libel in the court of this county is the out
growth of a difficulty which arose on an
evening twenty-five years ago between a
husband anti a wife, then of middle age.
During all these wearisome years the hus
band and wife have lived together but
have not spoken. Communication washy
interpretation, never direct. No t<*U>a
tete«, no confidences, no disc ission n
things of mutual interest to husband and
wife no plans for the future, no comm*
thought for the welfare of their children.
This farce was kept upuntiJ about a month
ago. If ever a man or woman forgets any
thing it is when the household is efijoymc
its spring moving. It was so in this cav .
The wife spoke to her husband on this oc
casion for the first time in twenty-live
years. She said: “Where’s the nail*?"
He looked at her and said nothing. The
eoiiveimtion, it is reported, has never
progressed beyond this point. W • will
oct a nickel that after it happened the
woman would rather have bitten her
tongue off - t han have broken the eloquent
silence* of a quarter of a century with that
momentous, soul-stirring sentence,
“Where’s the nails?” It is now said tlmt
the nails, instead of closing the breach,
have only widened it. the unhappy pair
are to seek bliss apart through the medium
of the courts. We can almost imagine th*
wearisome sigh of a hundred husbands for
just about a week of evenings of that man’s
married life. “Borne folks,” say Smith
and Jones, “don’t know when they ire
well off.”
