Then, claiming to be a schoolmate of Postmaster Dewhurst, he forged a cheek on the National bank for f5, signing Mr. Dew hurst’s name to it, •and got Mr. Pacetti, a saloon keeper, to cash it, and left for Palatka. But he re- tured there last night and Marshal Raphins picked him up. On his person was found two checks filled out, one for *50 on our national bank, drawn to the order of Sam uel Sinclair, warehouse department, cus tom house, New York, through Lincoln National bank; the other a sight draft for *50, drawn tfie same way, and several blanks ready for use. He will have a hear ing before Judge Cooper, when he will have a chance to explain his actions. Airvloi: to Mothers.—Mbs. A parsimonious individual went into a drug store the other day to have a pre scription put up. “Be sure that you give me generous measure,” said he to the druggist, fearful lest he might not get his money’s worth. Excitement in Texas. Great excitement has been caused in the vicinity of Paris, Texas, by the remarkable recovery of Mr. J. E.
