”” " ' 1 DAILY ENQUIRER • SUN: COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, WEDNESDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 22, 1886. With Headquarters in the Classic Land of Palestine. CltTelanri anil Blaine to be Roped Into the Snap, •nil b’abulnuH Krnnaof Money to be Uaeil In l'er> feetlnp It—Ileiir,- Monk, M. P., the Billing Figarr anil queen Vlrtoria the Chief Patron. fr Ottawa, Ont., September 19.—That Im perial federation is considerable of a myth •ven its most ardent supporters must ad mit. For wild cat schemes in this direc tion Mr. Henry Wentworth Monk, M. P., takes the cake. Mr. ~Monk is one of the ’bright and shining lights of the Canadian branch of the Federation League. He has perfected a schome which he thinks will Ttbviate all possible objections to the idea Of an English speaking federation. A company has been recently organized here, with Mr. Monk, M. P., as president, Which has for Its purpose the purchase of Palestine, and the establishment of the Mw capital of the federation there. The company Is called “The New British Em pire Company,” and has a capital stock of flO,000,000,000. of which fl,600,000 has been subscribed. Just how to bring the United States into the federation, which will ac knowledge a queen or a king as its bead, 1s not explained by the originators of the enterprise. In the prospectus of the new company, which has boon recently issued, the president says: “Canada and Australia, each containing millions of square miles, evidently com pose the great bulk of the British empire Bo far as extent of territory is concerned. The British Isles and India, containing the great bulk of the British empire so far as tlonsity of population is concerned (hun dreds of millions of British subjects being In India and about thirty or forty millions In the British Isles;, and whether wo re gard extent of territory or density ol popu lation, Palestine happens to be the only Convenient central position that might fitly be chosen ns the future capital of the pro posed British lm|>erial Confederation (as a glance at the map of the world should con vince us at once;, the British Isles and India being each about two or three thousand miles from Palestine, and Canada and Australia being each about five or six thousand miles from that grand common ♦centre. “Palestine occupies about the central position of the habitable world, as the great continent of Asia, with about half the population of the world, is at its back, Europe being at its right hand and Africa at its left, while America and Australia are about equi-distant from it, in opposite di rections, so that there is evidently no other central position in rofcrenco to these live f raud divisions of the habitable world but alestitie alone and its neighborhood along the east coast of the Mediterranean. “ It is clearly foretold also that at a cer tain time the nations wijl neeept Palestine, hr Jerusalem, as their capital, whenever they become enlightened enough to abol ish warfare. Isaiah it, 2-4; Mieali iv., 1-3. Why then should not the English speak ing people everywhere now take ad vantage of tho present favora ble opportunity to take such action as might lead to the long-oreilicted millen nium of peace by at once 'making suitable arrangements with the Turkish empire, and the great nations of Europe, for the acquisition of Palestine for the world’s Capital as soon as the nations generally Bhall bo prepared to combine In one grand Universal confederation which shall guarantee a general peace over the whole world for many generations? Meanwhile, Until other nations are prepared to join us, Palestine would bo the most convenient central position lor the capital of the pro posed confederation of tho British empire, or for tho English-speaking com munities everywhere; for the United Btatos would doubtless immediately join us in such a confederation for the sake of insuring tho general peace of the world at the earliest possible day. ****** “The present time appears to be very favorable for this purpose, as the federation of the English speaking peoples—with Palestine for our capital, and tho general peace, progress and welfare of the whole world for our ultimate object—would doubtless soon overwhelm every ‘Irish grievance’ and cause ‘homo rule’ to pre vail, not only in Ireland, but in every other convenient locality also that would be em braced withlu our proposed confederation of the English speaking people imme diately', or of the united nations of the -World subsequently. “Henry Wentworth Monk.” In the circular which accompanies tho prospectus Mr, Monk. M. P., says: “The object has been undertaken for the pur pose of a federation of nil the English speaking people everywhere with a view to the abolition of warfare, with all its •horrors and expenses." Mr. Monk will start for England in a few days to agitate tho question there. Among tho officers who are named lirst appears that of the patroness her" majesty Queen Victoria. Then as honorary vice- presidents the following Americans are g ivon: His excellency Grover Cleveland; [on. James U. Blaine, of Maine; Hon. Henry Watterson, of Kentucky. Tile stockholders are only to be called upon to pay the sums subscribed when the money snail be wanted to make the pur chase of Palestine, after federation, ns sot out in the prospectus, becomes assured. Sir Johu A. Macdonald, Canadian premier, and Sir William Dawson, of McGill col lege, are each down for *10,000. No PI»ro I'm- llim. Gstelllne Bell. “What class do you want to outer your horse in?” said the president ot the agri cultural fair, na he met tho honest farmer at the gate. “Enter my hoss! I ain’t got no hoss to enter nowhere.” “Don’t want to put either of your horses on the track?” “No, sir.” “Got n wheel-of-fortunc orany such thing you want to set up?” “Naw.” “Then what are you driving in with the team and wagon for?” “Why, I’ve got a pun’kin hero four feet high, and a lot of big corn and some o’ the best squashes in the whole country, and there’s a two-year-old steer tied behind the wagon that beats anything your ever see, I know.” “That may be, my friend, but this is no place for you. If you’ve got a horse that you want to put on the track or any kind of a confidence game, you might come in; but as it is we have no room for you. Come, move on there and give Colonel l’oeweight a chance to drive in. Go and feed your garden truck to your big steer.” “Teaercoffy." Hotel Guest (to pretty waiter girl)—This steak is not very good. Pretty Waiter Girl—Teaercoffy ? Guest—This steak—it’s tougli and— Pretty Waiter Girl (to another pretty Waiter girl)—Charley was asking after vou this morning, Jen. (To guest)—Did you say teaercoffy ? Guest (gloomily)—Coffee.—New York Sun. __ No Trouble. Two friends, after long separation, meet each other. “Well, how are you getting along, Tom?” “So so, Jim; can’t complain.” “Do you have any trouble meeting your monthly bills?” “Oh, no. I meet them at every turn; but paying them wight give me trouble.’* —Arks usaw Traveler. EX-GOVERNOR A,H .STEPHENS' COUSIN I am first cousin of the late Ex-Governor Alex ander H. Stephens, and have been postal clerk on different railroads since 1868. For ten years I have been a sufferer from a cancer on my face, which grew worse until the discharge of matter became proftise and very offensive. I became thoroughly distrusted with blood purifiers and pronounced them humbugs, as I had tiled many without relief. Finally I was induced to use B. B. B., which was about the 1st of February, and oontinued its use until the latter part of April. The offensive discharge decreased at once and the hardness around the cancer disappeared. It improved my general health and I rapidly gained flesh and strength. The discharge gradually decreased and the cancer became less and less in Bixe until nothing remains except a scar to tell the tale of a once dangerous cancer. All who have seen me since I have commenced the use of B. B. B. bear testimony of mylgreat improvement, and the scar on my face shows that it cured the cancer. I find that B. B. B. comes squarely up to what it is recommended, and I cannot say too much in praisoofthis wonderful medicine. I have tried them all, but 13. B. B. stands at the top as a blood purifier. The above is copied from the Athens (Ga.) Ban ner-Watchman, being the voluntary language of Mr. James A. Greer, which Editor Gantt in dorses : "Mr. Oreer is an honest, upright citizen of Athens, who had a bad cancer, and his numerous friends thought that he could not live very long, as the cancer was gradually sapling the founda tion of his constitution, but now looks well and hearty.” 2 AGAINST 18. Several physicians have pronounced my dis ease blood poison, caused by paint or lead in tho paint, but they could not cure me. Last summer I used eighteen bottles of a largely ad vertised blood medicine, which did me no more good than so much water. I have used only two bottles of B. B. B. and ani proud to say that I have received greater benefit from them than from the eighteen, and am now rapidly recovering. There is no question about the superiority of B. 13.13. over all blood reme dies. W. H. Woody. 215 Reynolds street, Augusta. Ga., April 21, 1886. FLESH SLOUGHING OFF IN PIECES. For two years I have been confined to bed with a loathsome form of Blood Poison, which had about eaten me up, and I and others had no hope of a recovery. For a while I could neither walk, sit down, nor lie down, only in misery, as my flesh seemed to be falling off my bones in pieces as big as a hen egg. My appetite was lost, my bones ached and pained me, and friends even shunned me. I used various blood-purifiers with out benefit, and several physicians treated me until large sums of money had been expended, but not one particle of good did any one give me. On the loth of February. 1886, Mr. F. R. Jackson called to see if I was not deoil, as it was thought tiv iruin .*ii. Diuiivi11k*1it111, .it otituiun, o. i., and before one bottle had been used I com menced gaining strength, my appetite improved, sores commenced healing, and when two bottles had been used I was on my feet and walking around, to the astonishment of everybody.
