Minneapolis, October 13.—Anabel Lan-
gan, the »-year-old Wisconsin girl who a
short time ago became known because of
her long and voluntary fast, is in this citv
recovering. She iB quite healthy, though
she has not yet acquired a normal appe
tite. Her mother said:
“Last January Anabel began to lose her
appetite, and gradually. discarded the use
of food. During her long fast she virtually
lived on air. She drank water in great
quantities, and inhaled the atmosphere
with much satisfaction. She became
dreamy and slightly preoccupied, but did
not decline in health.
“She was regularly bathed in milk and
olive oil. She was also induced to take
minute and homcerpathic pills. Every de
vice was resorted to to stimulate a tust'e for
food. Dainties were temptingly exposed,
but she rejected them all alike. On the
fllty-third day she was seen to nibble a
crumb of bread. From that time she be-
f an to gradually recover her appetite. She
egan with the same things that she left
off on, but even now she will not eat meat.
During the fifty-three days she lost ten
pounds only. She now has a ruddy skin
and shows no symptoms of ill health."

Poison Oak.
Last Sunday, while at Mr. T. F. Hud
son’s, the great hay and carp man, who is
perhaps better known than any farmer in
the state, we noticed that his son, DeWitt,
seemed to be skinning off at the hands.
Mr. H. called the little fellow' to him and
»'wyed us how the skin, even on the palms
ot his hands, was coming off in Hakes and
a new skin appearing underneath. He
explained that several yours ago the child
was badly poisoned with poison oak, amt
every spring lie broke out and suffered
greatly. He ‘ '

jy. Bo had applied every kiiown
dy to relieve the sufferer, and em
ployed physicians to attend him, but with
lio avail. “In fact,” Mr. Hudson con
tinued, “it seemed like to go in sight of a
poison oak vine would cause the eruption
to break out afresh. After trying every
thing else, I read in the Baiiner-Watch-
man so much about the S. S. S. blood med
icine that I determine to try that also, but
must confess that I had but little hope in
it. But, as you see, its success has been
wonderful. It has driven every particle
of the poison from my child’s system, and is
now putting a new skin on him. He is
thoroughly cured, and the S. S. S. did the
good work. I believe that it will drive
out any kind of poison from the blood,
and its effect on DeWitt proves it. There
are a great many sufferers from poison oak
in the country, and to such I can know
ingly recommend this great medicine. It
not omy effects a certain cure, but seems
to put fresh life into one.”
This is only one of the numerous in
dorsements of S. S. S. that has reached us,
and we publish it as information to those
who are suffering with poison in their sys
tem, it matters not from what source it
comes. This discovery in regard to curing
the effects of poison oak is of great import
ance, as it gives a certain remedy for a
most common and aggravating affliction,
for which no permanent relief had ever
been known. The S. S. S. is certainly the
king of blood medicine, and is as harmless
ns it is solvent for the eradication of impure
blood from the system.—Athens Banner*

edge, ready to go to the bottom with rotten assets and living mid pressing liabilities that
demand his money or his goods. Next day they come from a big, proud shop, good
credit, big stock, but bending before the crushing weight of a hundred thousand pro

hours the money must come. Many thousand lacking, after exhausting every effort
