■HR DAILY ENQUIRER - SUN: COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, WEDNESDAY MORNING. NOVEMBER 24 1886. COAL TOR SOUTH AMERICA. Simmn*li to be the Prlnel|inl Port of Shipment, .'Savannah News. Mr. E. H. Watts, the London ship owner •who was in the eity on Saturday and yes! terday, has become largely interested in ■coal lands around Birmingham by recent investments. A syndicate, of which lie is one of the leading members, proposes to develop the mines on their property and export coal to South America. Mr. Watts has a large interest in sixteen or eighteen steamships, several of which come fre quently to Savannah, J. B West & Co being the agents. It is understood tlmt Savannah is likely to be the principal port from which the coal will be shipped. Mr. Watts has gone to Charleston to attend a meeting of the directors of the syndicate If the scheme is putin operation Savan nah’s exporting trade will he largely in creased. Free Truilc. The reduction of internal revenue and the taking off of revenne stamps from Pro prietary Medicines, no doubt has largely benefitod the consumers,as well as relieving the burden of home manufacturers. E.f pecially is this the case with Green’s Au gust Flower and Bosehee’s German Syrup as the reduction of thirty-six cents per ■dozen, has been added to increase the size ■of the bottles containing these remedies thereby giving one-fifth more medicine in the 75 cents size. The August Flower for Dyspepsia and Liver Comulaint, and the ■German Syrup for Cough and Lung trou bles, have perhaps, the largest sale of any medicines in the world. The advantage of increased size of the bottles will be greatly appreciated by the sick and afflicted, in ■every town and village in civilized corn - tries. Sample bottles for 10 cents remain the same size. octl'Z dJfcwlv Mere IVorlilIng* Once More. The farmer who provides warm sheds •and sufficient feed to his stock is the man who complains least of the poor markets. Poor stock assists in making the markets weak and declining. The demand for prime cattle and hogs is always good. —Omaha Bee. Advice to Mothers.—Mrs. Winslow’s Soothing Syrup should always be used ■when children are cutting teeth. It re lieves the little sufferer at once; it produces ■natural, quiet sleep by relieving the child from pain, and the little cherub awakes as “bright as a button." It is very pleasant ■to taste. It soothes the child, softens the gums, allays all pain, relieves wind, regu lates the bowels and is the best known remedy for diarrhoea, whether arising from teething or other causes. Walter Phelps “has out off the bangs which were formerly a distinguish ing mark ot his personal beauty.” He is now represented as exhibiting to the world ■“a broad and intellectual expanse of brow, the soft, even, velvety texture of \vhose •cuticular covering is without doubt the finest mantle that has adorned the states man of this or any other period.” From this we infer that Mr. Phelps contemplates an alliance with the labor party on the New Jersey senatorahip.—Brooklyn Eagle. IVlint tlie Press Says. The Swift Specific Co. have something interesting to say to you in another col umn. The popularity of their medicines is wonderful indeed; yet, when we see how effective it is iu all diseases pertaining to the blood, we are not surprised that its popularity is so great. It is undoubtedly one of the best blood medicines in the world.—Examiner, Abingdon, Va. Swift’s Specific—Thh wonderful blood purifier has received the endorsement of -many of the leading physicians both in this country and Europe, and the hundreds of persons it has cured of cancer, catarrh, scrofula, eczema, ulcers, rheumatism and ■blood taint is remarkable. Nothing like it has ever been known before. This medi cine is for sale in every drug store, not only in this country, but abroad, which shows its popularity. Are any of our readers troubled with any of these complaints? If so, for a very small sum of money you can be made perfectly well and happy.—N. O. Picayune., Sept. 2,1880. The first S. S. S., or Swift’s Specific, ever brought to Atlanta, Texas, was brought by T. Caven &Co., druggists. Aaron Blaydes had been in bad health for a long time and could get no relief. He was almost blind. Mr. Caven induced him to take a bottle of S. S. S. The first bottle brought him out on the streets, and the second made a com plete cure; and Aaron is yet living and well, and can be interviewed at any time with reference to the facts. He is a colored man living here in Atlanta, Texas. S. S. S. is now sold by all druggists iu this country.— Journal, Atlanta, Texas. Treatise on blood and Skin Diseases mailed free. „ „ ,, The Swift Specific Co., Drawer 3, At lanta, Gn. • Is It a Freight War. President H. B. Plant, of the Southern Express Company, has issued an order, which is now in effect, that the Southern E--. press Company will carry oranges from Palatka Fla., to New York, Boston, Phila delphia and Baltimore for 35 cents per box, and is prepared to receive the fruit in any quantity, from one box to ear load lots, which will bo forwarded promptly. This, says the Pala-ka News, looks as though a rate war is to be inaugurated, and that Florida fruit and vegetable grow ers are to be the beneficiaries this tune. This low rate is something ill keeping with those enjoyed by the northern and western producers, and means a great deal to our People in the way of dollars and cents. We have no doubt but this reduction m rate will induce many orange growers to ship their fruits by express who have here tofore shipped by the ordinary freight lines. Mothers worn out with the cares of ma ternity or the household, women who are weak, nervous or hysterical, suffering from headaches, sleeplessness, debility and weak back, should take Moxie Nerve Food, the delicious invigorant. No other remedy is so safe and palatable for deileate Women. For sale by Geo. A. Bradford, Evans & Howard, M. D. Hood & Co., Brannon & Carson, and all druggists. Cuts In High Aitltuilp*. llie ellects of high altitudes on eats is ptovoking local discussion. A real estiue agent writes us follows; “Apropos of me subject ot the influence ot uign altitudes on animals, it may be stated there were nu merous deaths ainoug the lelines in Mon tana during the Ws, wiiou there were no smelters to account lor it. A cal, without warning, would stagger around and fan, like an elder under the influence of toe hydrated oxide of the hypothetical radical ethyl, and, lying dormant for a time, it would gel up apparently little worse lor uuu Wear and tear, and ufter describing a lev goe.i.e'.ncui figures ou the floor, shoot out ot the uoor like a shot out of a gun. She heard of Dr. King s New Dis covery for consumption, and began buying it of me.
