for themselves whether a refusal to heed
it will lead to greater complications.
That they regarded this phase
of tbe trouble as much more
serious than mere surface appearances in
dicates, is evident from the haste with
which they gathered into a secret cooler-
ence at the union station. The result ot
this conference of superintendents has, as
yet, taken no definite form, either for ar
bitration or concession.
The brakemen have been outspoken in
their sympathy for tbe switchmen ever
since the strike began. On several occa
sions early in the trouble they refused to
fill tbe places vacated by the strikers, and
were discharged.
This action they took simply as indi

their Brotherhood has passed on the
question, and officially instructed its mem
bers to fill no places which the switch
men have abandoned.

THE WEEKLY ENQUIRER-SUN
In every community in Georgia and Alabama,
to whom libera] cash commissions will be paid.
The Weekly Enquirer-Sun is now one of the most
popular papers published in the South, and it is
gaining faster in influence and circulation than any
weekly paper published in Georgia or Alabama. The
people take it. and agents make money easily and
rapidly canvassing for it, because :
1. From head lines to foot slugs it is consistently
and aggressively democratic.
2. It is with the people and Cleveland, the people s
president, in their great fight against the tarift mo
nopolies, the “trusts’’ and the “combines’’ that are
sucking the life blood ofthe masses.
3. It is the best printed weekly paperpublished in
the South.
4. It is the newsiest weekly paper published in
the South.
5. It is a clean weekly paper. It is absolutely
free from anything that would render it unfit to be
placed in the hands of ladies and children.
t5. It is a complete newspaper, a literary paper, a
story paper aud an agricultural journal, all in oue.
it is the people’s family newspaper.
