I’M FI LL AS ER GOAT
Of grand and noble schemes for the advancement
and improvement of the human people, but being
only a poor, weak millionaire, 1 find it very hard
at the present price of whisky to lend a helping
hand to all my friends, and do justice to your
I ncle John. But there is a feeUng making itself
at home in my motherly buzzum that the public,
in making me the shaperoan of their 10 cents in
terests, inout have went further and done wuss.
I can feel the said feeling throb and expand and
get a move on itself, and push and scrouge my
undying love for wife, baby anil Chattahoochee
beer way off into one corner of my magnanimous
heart every time 1 think of the big bargains 1
have just received. One of ’em is a duster made
of humming birds’ feathers—that is, they look
like they are. They are nice for tine furniture
and pictures. If they ain’t you may shoot me.
Then window cleaners, which are a whole lots of
little pieces of shammy skin strung together ion
a string!. They are only 5 cents. • The stove
brooms are 5 cents too, but the knife cleaners are
10 cents. Honestly they are. or I certainly
wouldn’t say so. You ought to see the German
lunch baskets, with handle and cover thrown in.
Then the round work baskets, some as big as all
outer doors, some not quite so large. The
leatherette wall pockets in assorted, artistic
shapes, colors, bronze, silver, old gold and new
brass, are daisies. Don’t misunderstand me as to
what I mean by leatherette. If you leave your
harness hanging on the fence and a kow eats ’em
endurin of the night, they are leather e’t in one
sense, but not the kind I speak of. Another
thing is a crumb tray; 10 cents for tray and 10
cents for brush, total "IQ cents. Of course you
wouldn’t expect ’em both for 10 cents, but your
neighbor might. If I advertised a horse for 10
cents, some folks would kick if I wanted an extra
nickel for the bridle. Come around some time
and bring your wife. (X. B. This invite is ad
dressed to men only.) I am running a dime store
at 1116 Broad street, Columbus, Ga. My name
starts with an H„ and I am
GESS HOO.
