A Gorgeous Performance.—The per
formance of Hanlon’s Fantasma at the
opera house last evening was greeted with
a large audience, and a more thoroughly
pleased one has rarely been seen. In this
instance expectation was fully realized,
and the performance was all that had been
claimed for it. The spectacular features
were gorgeous and the mechanical con
trivances simply marvelous. There was
fun in it throughout. The company is a
large one and a strong one, and the piece
was giYen in superb style. The applause
was frequent and hearty, and the encores
numerous. Altogether the Fantasma was
a capital and pleasing entertainment.
