skirmishing with the enemy. Yesterday
fleott's cavalry fought them at Loudon
for six hours, with what loss to tho ene

plied tho torch to tho combustibles piled
upon tho Railroad Bridge, and in u few

bing at Kingston, killing and wounding
n large number of thorn. Kingston is a
aiuall county town, located upon the
batik* of tho Tennessee and Clinch riv
er*, eighteen milos below Loudon. Alter
the tight was over, Gen. Forrest com
menced crossing his command by ferry
boats, over tho_Tenn<*Rsoe river. While
crossing over with tho last detachment,
the ferry l?nut sunk, drowning ten men.
