The following cases wero up and dis

The first case was that of J. M. Leon

simple English of this caso as we under

kuow* by what authority Mr. Frazer holds
tho office of Tax Colloctor of Musoogee
county. After sounding the question,
Judge Johnson dismissed tbe esse on the
ground that he had no right to go behind
the Governor’s commission. The law
gives the Governor tho right to dismiss
an officer ou certain grounds, aud he, as
Judge, must presume that the Govornor
acted by Authority. Tho matter, we

DIRECT THE EQTIF.HTRTAN DEPARTMENT OF THE ARENIC DEPARTMENT. UNDER THEIR SUPERVISION,
my patrons may roat assiued that nothing in tho slightest degree objectionable or prejudicial to the most refined tastes will be
permitted. My avaunt couriers are gentlemen of moral excellence and ability. The unsolicited and unanimous expression of
tho press during the triumphant lour iu summer and autumn, and especially the triumphant tour throughout the South, fully
warrants my exhibition ns the largest on earth. Tho daily expenses of my exhibition are greater thun thoso of any other two
concerns traveling ; and although at times it tins stopped in localities where the at tendance of overy inhabitant within one
hundred miles, has failed to quite covor tho day’s expenses, I have boon satisfied to gratify my patrons in such places at my
loss ; while the general and great success of tho reason 1ms verified the maxim that “Merit, and Merit alone, Deserves Success."
This merited succors has stimulated certain proprietors of smaller traveling exhibitions to attempt au imitation of my colossal
combination by adding lo their exhibitions a few stuffed skins or wax figures, tho cheap or worthless refuse of old museums,
and to call their shows Museums and Menageries. Homo have proposed to go further, by claiming to have a ROBINSON, and
advertising their shows as John Robinson’s. I hardly need warn the public aguinst such paltry yet most unscrupulous attempt
at imposition. There iH BUT ONE JOHN ROBINSON, whoso long career as a generous caterer for nnitiRonieiit-seekers 1ms
