Pastsebship Dissolved.—A very formidable
partnership was forcibly severed yesterday by po
liceman Avant, for which, wo presume, he is not
thanked by either party. He had but a few hours
before received a letter from a gentleman at Irwin-
ton, Wilkinson county, informing him that two ne
groes, who had been traveling through the country
and plundering as they went, had left for this city,
snd ho accordingly went to work to secure them.
Tho result of his search was, that he arrested John
Zachary, one of tho offenders, and it is hoped he
will get the other before Tery long. The name of
the other is Henry Johnson, and as Mr. Avant is a
good natured man, he does not mean to leave him
out in the cold, nor keep two such friends lODg apart.
Amen. ^
Thieves Arrested.—The police made a raid yes
terday and got hold of a portion of a “Society of
Friends” who have been lessening the goods and
chattels of other people. We can’t give it yet, as it
is not quite ripe, but will, we expect, be able to
state particulars, and to record an extra addition to
the crowd of penitents in the guard-house.
The Catholic Fair.—Tho Fair which has been
proceeding through the past week will be continued
this week, and we hope they will have a goodly
attendance of tho people who have money. It is
not actually necessary that any others should apply
for admission to the hall, or take a chance at any
articles to be raffled for.

The Operetta.—Bear in mind that to-morrow

never teen a ease like it before, and no remedy be pre

tpaired of Mrs. Wilson, with whom I was residing,
bad in the house a bottle of PtaXTxTiox Bitters,
and .he insisted I should try It. for she said she knew
it to boa pertain cure in all cues offerer, debility,

ly consented to try it as a lari resort. In less then
three hours after the first dote my fever left me; in
two days I was sitting up. and before Saturday night
I was as well as «ftr. I tell yon all this that you may
