Bis: I wisk to make known my case to the in

establishment, and the victim of hereditary scrofula,
from which I have suffered beyond description, and
for months and months have been unable to follow
my employment. I bavo taken Cod Liver Oil,

by tho persuasion of my family I tried it, and after
taking four bottles tho sore* began to beal and the
large glands to disappear. I have suffered for
twelve years, and am now finishing the last bottle,
which will leave mo in perfect health. I think it a
wonderful medicine—and the doctor a credit to the

The beet tests of the merits of my proprietary
article is to ascertain what is thought of it at homo
where it is manufactured. Such a test Lippman's
Pyrafuge can well stand, as to-day it is decidedly
the favorite remedy for chills and fever, dumb ague
and other diseases of a malarious origin, in tho city
of Savannah where it ia prepared. Olio principal
druggtsts of the city would as much think of doing
without castor o3 in their stores as to be without

CITY AFFAIRS.
THURSDAY MORNING, JUNE 24, 1869.
A Frau Stoeehousf..—Mr. Wm. A. Huff is now
tailding on Cotton Avenno, between Griffin’s end
Cherry's, near Cherry street, a storehouse which,
when completed, will be the finest in this city. It
is to be 110 feet deep, 42 feet front and throo stories
high. The front ia to bo of iron and handsomely
ornamented. It will bo just such a building as any
one who is acquainted with the great com and pro
vision king of Centra] Georgia might jppect. Huff
does nothing on a narrow, sordid scale, and under
takes nothing that he cannot carry out successfully
and in tiptop style. This’handsome store will be com
pleted and ready to rent to any good tenant by tho
first of October next, and wo shall cofigratulate tho
man who secures it, as he will havo a splendid stand,
ample room, and tbe nicest place for buaii.es* in all
this region. .

St. PiCL’a Chczch.—We have stated heretofore
that a new Episcopal Church had recently been or
ganized in this city, and yesterday, by request of a
friend, we rode out to eee the building which is
being prepared for divine worship, by tbe new con
gregation and the generous assistance of a few out
siders. The building is known as the old magazine
and was, virtually, presented by the City Council,
for the purpoee for which it is to he used. A is sit
uated on the Forsyth, or lower YlneviUe road, shout
two hundred yards beyond College street, and to
the left of the road as you pass out of town. It is
a brick building about CO feet long by 25 feet wide,
and though presenting, at present, a rather low and
ungainly appearance, yet, each repairs are being
made upon it as will vastly improve its appearance
and make it really a very nice, convenient and com
fortable little church. Windows on both sides and
at the ends of the building have been opened, an
entire new floor tad, a well arranged chancel fitted
up, and there is to be two front doors leading into
the church, a portico, belfry, etc. AD this is being
done through the zeal and indefatigable energy of
the worthy Rector of Christ Church, Rev. H. K.
Rees. , ■
^Bt. Paul’s Church, when completed, will be a
great convenience to Episcopalians living in that
part of the city in which it is located. The seats
will be free and the Rector will receive for his labor
only the voluntary contributions of those who at
tend serrice in that Church, It win thus be open
and free to all and will, we aro puntuded, be of
great and lasting benefit to the surrounding neigh
borhood.
Bros Strrzxiom Covet.—No business of general
interest to tbe public was transacted in this Court
yesterday. On account of tbe recent finding of the
bill of indictment and tho absence 0/ witnesses, tbe
case of the State vs, Wm. Burgay, charged with tbs
murder of Mortimer Mhtchew, was continued at the
instance of the accused.
Two cases on the common law docket were dis-
[posed of. They are of no interest to tbe public.
Several bills of indictment were returned by tbe
Grand Jury. Bob Wagner seemed to haTe engrossed
much of its attention, as be waa indicted, in several
lies for burglary, in and around the city.
I Thu Grand Jury certainly deeervea the thanks of
tbe public for tbeir energy and activity in bringing
offender* to justice.
Caused Foa.—Sheriff Dean, of Barbour county,I
Ala., arrived yesterday with • requisition upon the
dly authorities of Haeon, for tbe body of Jim Long,
tbe burglar, to whom we bare recently alluded, and
[who has been lying in tbe guard-house eineo his ar
rest, about ten days since. The Sheriff and liis pria-
loner leave for Eufaola this morning.
I Sir* Locals.—We find in late number* of the Co
lumbus Sun and Atlanta Nerfr Er*, paragraphs allud
ing to the aickness of their re*pectiT»-“Locak.
Sympathy for them wells up from the very bottom
of our boots. It’s s mean and contemptible disease

I the community for which he write*, labor* and

half way to that point, the crew broke a bottle of
wine over tbs bow, and christened their little craft

Watch out, “Innocents,” tho “Infants” will give

ber of parsons from the dty, will attend the oxor-
dsss and the pio-nio which comes off at tbe above
institution to-morrow. We understand that pro-
partions havs been mads on an extensive seals and
all who thinlr of attending may safely count on
having a pleasant and interesting time.

Weekly Review of the Market.
OFFICE DAILY TELEGRAPH. >
Jcvi 23—Evening, 1869.)
The wholesale and jobbing trade of the city for
the week ending this evening has been compara
tively dull and quiet. Tbe leading articles in dry
goods and grocereis have, however, been in modcr'
ately goo^demand at quotations given below.
The stock and bond market continues to improve
and there is now a fair demand for all the best se
curities of this class. We give carefully revised

The market during the week hu been a little ex
cited at irregular prices. On tbe date of our last
review middlings were quoted at 30e, with an upward
tendency, and on Friday last they reached tbs high
est figures of the eeaton—31c. On Saturday tho
telegrams from tbe Eastern and European markets
checked the advance here and tbe market dosed
very quietly oo that day at 30 cents for middlings.
Since then prices have manifested a drooping ten

extremely light offerings. Tbe market closed this

Niobt Scenes in the Bible. Bt Rev. Daniel March,
D. V.. author of “Walks and Home* of Jesus.”
Zeigler, McCurdy A Co..- Philadelphia.
This is ono of tho moet interesting and superb
contributions to sacred literature that wo have seen
for many a day. It is a volume of about 550 pages,
devoted exclusively to tho event* of Scripture that
occurred at night, which are presented with great
force of language and beauty or Imagery. Tho
work is elegantly ilhutreted with steel plates by tbe
best of American artists, which give to it additional
value, wfailo the remainder of tho mechanical work
and material ia of the moet elegant description. It
is a charming book to read, and no more elegant or
nament for tho parlor table or library haa gone frogs
the American press. * _ ■ .
“Might Sena ia the Bible.—I have received a
copy of “Night Scenes in the Bible" by Rev. Dan
iel March, and take pleasure in commending it to
the public. It is a beautiful book,’rich in thought
and style, an ornament for the parlor table, and a
companion for the bouse of meditation and retire
ment- I tapo tho people will buy and read it, and
then learn to love tho Biblo mure and more.
