THE CONDITIONS OF HEALTH.
It is idlo to cxpoct health when tho precautions
noccsHoiy to soenro it aro ncglocted. Tho hnm&n
organization is a delicato pieco of mechanism, and
requires as much intelligent c&ro and watchfulness
to keep it in rr*€r, as aro rcqnisito in tho xnanago-
ment of tho moat complicated combination of levers,
whoels and pinions.
At tills season of tho year tho body is peculiarly
sensitive, becauso it is greatly weakened and ro-
laxod by tlio continuous beat. Tho skin, in sum
mer, with its millions of pores wido open, is a very
different sort of tegument from tlio compact cover
ing which it bocozncs under tho action of tho win
ter's cold. Tlio muscles, loo, aro comparatively
flaccid, tho nerves In minions, tho blood poor, and
tlio wholo framo loss capablo of enduring tho fa-

These indications of a depressed condition of tlio
vital forces aro so many unmistakable hints that na-

Tnz Com*a Fate.—Now that the Laboratory
buildings and grounds have been formally trans
ferred to tho State Agricultural Society, and the lo
cation of the Fair Grounds definitely settled, at least
for the present, we may confidently look for prompt
and vigorous action on the part of the Executive
Committee of the Society, in putting the Laboratory
in trim for the general exhibition in November, and
a cordial, generous and liberal response on the
part of the people, to all the demands which may
be made upon them by the Committee for aid and
support in carrying ont their plans. It is true that
there is some disaffection among our people in re
gard to the selection of tho Laboratory as tho place
for holding the Fair, on account of the unsatisfac
tory and unsettled condition of affairs in relation
to tho property. They tliink it would be better to
•elect somo other site for holding the Fair, and
about which there is no dispnto of titles, and upon
which tho General Government, Gen. Howard, or
any other man have no claims; but they should re
member that the Executive Committee of the Agri
cultural Society aro now limited in their expendi
tures to only the f ew thousand dollars that have been
subscribed, and which are wholly inadequate to
pnrchaac such grounds and erect such buildings for
holding tbo Fair, as its great importance demands.
And farther, the Executive Committee have
not the time, between this and the 16th of
November, to erect substantial, durable and com
modious buildings, even if they had the funds in
Laud with which to do it, and the present arrange
ment is, therefore, clearly tho best that can now
possibly bo made. Tho Laboratory furnishes tho
necessary buildings and the grounds are amplo for
the purpose, neither requiring a very large expen
dituro of money to place them in order. And when
it is further considered, that tho prospects aro good
for a permanent transfer of the property to tho Ag
ricultural Society, we can no longer see any solid ob
jection to tho action of tbo Executive Committee,
in immediately carrying out their proposed plans,
and thcro is, really, no longer any solid grounds for
witlihohling from them a prompt and liberal sup
port.

A Physician whose skill can be relied upon is a
blessing to any community. This is eminently tmo
of Dr. Hunter, of Louisville, Kentucky, who treats
all private and special diseases with unparalleled
success. The Doctor has made private and chronic
diseases the study of his life, and from his large
practice, which extends throughout tho whole of tho
great South affd West, must have acquired great
skill in their treatment. Any one so desiring, by
calling at the doctor's office or sending a full state
ment of their disease by mail, will receive his opin
ion as to its nature, probabilities of a cure, timo
required, expense, etc., freo ef chargo. Wo doubt
if any physician in America, having so largo a prac
tice, makes so liberal an offer. Read what ho says
in liia pamphlet, a work of forty pages, which should
bo in the hands of every young man in America.

Tbo best tests of the merits of my proprietary
article is to ascertain what is thought of it at homo
where it is manufactured. Such a test Lippman's
Pyrafuge can well stand, as to-day it is decidedly
tho favorite remody for chills and fever, dumb agno
and other diseases of a malarious origin, in the city
of Savannah where it is prepared. Tho principal
druggtste of the city would as much think of doing
without castor oil in their stores as to bo without
this popular (and deservedly so) remedy. It is a
vegetable preparation free from deleterious drugs,
and acts as a tonic upon tho ontiro system, thereby
invigorating tlio system, so much so as to enable it
to throw off disease. Pyrafuge does not nauseate
or sicken the patient, and can ho taken fay tho most
elieato persons without fear. If should always ho
at hand, as chills and fever creep upon ns so
stealthily thatwc aro not aware of its approach un
til it is upon trn. A word to the wiso is sufficient—

HURLEY’S SARSAPARILLA,
IODIDE POTASH.
0
F ALL the remedies that have been discovered
_ daring the present age for the “thousand ills that
flesh is heir to. none equal this preparation. Only
15 years have elapsed since tho discoverer (who spent
a decade in studying, experimenting and rerfccting
it.) first introduced it to the public, and it is already
recognized by the most eminent physicians in all parts
of tho counUr to be the most surprising and effective
remedy for certain diseasesof which they haveknowl-
edge.
All other Compounds or Syrap8 of this Root have
hitherto failed to command the sanction of the Facul
ty, because or. being tested, they have been found to
contain noxious ingredients, which neutralixe^the
good effects of the Sarsaparilla, and oftentimes injure
the health of the patient. It Is not so with Hurley’s
preparations.
This is the pure and genuine extract of tho root, and
will, on trial, he found to cflcct a certain and perfect
cure of the following complaints:
Affections of the Bones, Habitual Cosltlve-
ness. Debi lity, Diseases of the Kidneys.

Tho only remedy for Chills and Fever, or At no and

LKY.S AGUE TONIC. There havo been thousands
cured by u<ing it who have tried tho usual remedies
without beaefit.
WORTHY Or ATTENTION.
To Dr. Thos. A. Hurley:
t hereby certify that during last year I was attack
ed with the Ague whilst in Vicksburg. Mb*; sad used
several popular medicines with but temporary relief.
On reaching hoinethedi.<ease returned in a worse type,
if possible, when my medical attendant ordered Qui
nine in large doses— frequently as high as sixty
grains per day. and which must have cost mo nearly
$100. 1 consulted Dr. Muith. of Louisville, and fou&a
he prescribed quinine and arsenic combined, which I
refused to take, preferring to let the diseaso tako its
coarse. I was almost bloodnees, extremely exhausted,
and pronounced with large Liver and spleen. About
this time tho advertisement of Hurley s Aguo ionic
appeared in a city paper, and I determined to uive it
atrial. I did no, and havo no reason to regret it.
One bottle restored me completely, and since that time
I havo seen nearly a hundred cases in which it acted
with equally happy results, and would certainly
recommend it arf preferable to any other tome before
the public.
