An Ordinance Regulating the Mooring of Boats at the fVharvd Skc. 1. Re it ordained by the City Council « Augusta, that (rout and after the publishing ot . this Ordinance, no empty boat having less thr: three able and competent men on board at a. times, shall be permitted to fasten to, or ancho 1 at, any place opposite the city above the Hridg j for more than four days unless when securely fes tened with a strong chain or cable at least fifti feet in length to » growing tree, not less than twelve inches in diameter, and that in the ever of a considerable rise in the River, such emi boat, not fastened as aforesaid, shall be inamed' ately removed below the bridge. 2. Each host engaged in lading or unlading during a high river, shall have at least four able men constantly on board, and shall be securely fastened or anchored, in such a manner as to pre I tent her swinging or drifting on the Whp.tf 1 3. The City Marshal, or any other offL'ir ot ' Council ahall have, and they are hereby vt -led w,ih power, and are required, to remove or cause to be removed, at the risk and expense of the owner, to some place below the bridge, any boat or boats, which may lie neglected by the owner | or agi nt , and for each boat so removed the offi s cer shall b* entitled to ten dollars, to be reci-iv ed from the boat owner, in the same manner as , other expenses incurred in the removal. 4. The owner or owners of any and every boat shall be liable to a fine, at the discretion of Coun cd, not exceeding two hundred dollars, lor each ( and every violation of this Ordinance, and shall moreover repair all damages done to the VVharve 1 or Bridge in consequence of such violation.
