Mr. Gray was always judiciously enterprising, indefatiguhly industrious, and systematic in the arrangements of lime. He generally rose about tne same hours (3 or 4 o’clock) in all seasons of the year—and in 1 1* the quiet of the. morning perused his letters, examined bis uc- 1 •■counts, and formed his plans and arrangements.
