Masonic Oritians’ Home.—Wc were
highly pleased on visiting this institution yes-

by Mrs. Hill, and the progress attained by the
pupils. The average attendance is about ISO
daily. The recitation rooms are well ventilated,
and the desks admirably arranged for con

High School for Young Ladies.—Wc

Her school will be qnite an acquisition to Atlanta,

success sho so rlch'y deserves. She has routed

will giro private iossoasto a limited number of
scholars during the summer months; and in tho
meantime will make arrangement* for opening
her school in the fall, with a corps of teachers
competent to teach all the branches usually taught
in High Schools.
Tin: Bullock-Anoiek Committee.—We
arc Informed by members of tbe above committee,
that the testimony taken before them will be
printed in tail by the Public Printer, and that tbe
Whole will be made public at as early a day as
practicable. They declare that there is really no
de-ire on tbe part of thb committee to suppress
any of the testimony; but owing to the manner
of Use investigation, it is due, they think, to nil
interested, that tbe entire proceedings should ap
pear at once, when tbe public can make up their
minds by a knowledge of all the facts.
While the committee may feel satisfied with
this line of policy, wc are confident that the peo
ple will not approve It. Why should they pursue
a different course rrom that of the Railroad Com
milter? Why, oi a sudden, this refusal to allow
published dally reports? Our reporter informed
ns that the committee would no: agi eo to a report
s*f their procced'ngs being published unless the
whole proceedings were given, (1. e. of th e day.)
Thb vs agreed to do, knowing that the people

It ha<l been in our possession but a few moments
when J. K. W. Johnson .one of Bullock'* sccrctaricj
ami John L. Conley, Librarian, came to tho front
door of TRR Constitution office, and called the
reporter out. The reporter came back and said
that the committee bad sent for him and tho
journal. We horded it bach to him, and, in
company with Messrs. Johnson and Conley, the
■epofter left for the State House. That journal
has never been sent back. Did the committee re
cede from Its agreement? How came these gen.
tlenicn to come for the reporter?
Will the committee inform the pnblie who the
state Printer is. Dr. Bard having resigned? If
the committee considers the New Era the State
or Public Printer, will it let tbe public know who
its proprietors arc? Perhaps it might throw
light apes, the sodden reticence sought to be
maintained, if the proprietors were known. Let
the people have light.
