The Daily News and Herald. GENTLEMEN’S WEAR: 8AVAMAH, MONDAV. ATKIL 9, 1866. Savannah Daily News Herald. and TO THE PUBLIC. Wc have disposed of the entire printing establishment ot the Daily Moving News to s W. Mason. Esq., proprietor of the Savannah Paily Heraud, and those papeis will be combined, under his sole ownership, with the title of Thb Daily News as»» Herald. Having been met in the most amicable and liberal spirit by Mr. Mason in the adjustment of our proprietary mteres in the material and good him tabUsbment, we cordially r f com f to the confidence and support of our form p.ttO'” “ d thtodore blob & CO. n., the above card it will he seen that 1 have purchased from Messrs. Theodore Blots & Co their entire interest in the Daily Morning News establishment. This ai rangement was made some months since, as soon as circumstances admitted, but was not announced until thenecessary materials for an enlargement of the parperand the resumption of itsjri weekly and weekly issues could be procured. The material having arrived and railroad communications with the in terior being re-opened, the tri-weeldy and weekly editions of the News and Herald. lor country circulation, will be immediately resumed. Started but a Jjttle over one year ago, un der most unfavorable circumstances, the Herald has attained an influence and achieved a succpss tar beyond my anticipa tions, and now enjoys the largest circulation in the city and county, with an unequaled advertising patronage at home and abroad. It i 9 most gratifying that the course adopt ed from a sense of duty and propriety, in the linn conviction that it was the proper one in all respects, has been rewarded by such suc cess. I shall endeavor to preserve the Her ald's tone in the News and Herald, to make its editorials conservative and in the interest of the whole country, to oppose fac tious and fanatics, to advocate justice for the South, to make the news department unrivalled in accuracy as well as enterprise, to avoid everything sensational and all per sonalities, and to spare no efforts to make the paper a deserving as well as a popular one. Col. W. T. Thompson, whose conuection with the Herald has been long announced and has largely contributed to its increasing prosperity, will remain as Associate Editor, with an able corps of assistant editors, con- tiibutors, reporters and correspondents; and Mr. Theodore Blois, long and favorably known in that capacity, wili continue in charge of the Business Department. t ISBN DRILLS AND UNDER CLOTHING.
