Washington, January 1, 1S64. Gentlemen:—Having stated it verbally to yon, I have no hesitation In writing the fact, that I experi enced marked benelt from your Hoofland’s German Hitte rs. During a long and tedious session of Con gress, pressing and onerous duties nearly prostrated me. A kind iriend suggested the nse of the prept tion I have named. 1 took his advice, and the ret was improvement of health, renewed energy, and that particular relief I so much needed and obtained. Oiiters may be similarly advantaged, il they desire to be. Truly your Iriend, THOMaS B. FLORENCE. D From Rev. W. D. Seigfriod, Pastor of Twelth Baptist Church. Philadelphia, December 26,1SC3. Messrs. .Tones & Evans, Gentlemen I have recently been laboring uuder the distressing eff'Cts of indigestion, accompanied by a prostration of theueryous system. Numerous rem euies were recommended by friends and some of them tested, but without relief. Your Hooflland's German Bitters were recommended by persona who hail tried them, slid whose favorable mention of the Hitters in duced me also to try them. I must confess that I had an aversion to patent medicines, from tlie “thonsaud and one” quack ••Bitters,” whose only aim seems to ue to palm off sweetened aud drugged liquor upon the community, in a sly way; and tlie tendency of which, I fear, is to make many a confirmed drunkard. Upon learning that yours was really a medicinal preparation. 1 took it with happy effect Its action was not only upon the stomach, bnt npon the ner vous system, was prompt and gratifying. I feel that 1 have derived great and permaneilt benefit from tb use ol a lew bottles. Very respectfully yours, W. G. SiilUFRKID, No. 254 Shackamaxon street. BEWARE OF COUNTERFEITS.
