Ordinance 3uth October, 183U. Sue. 7. No wooden hor.se, building, shed, feme or structure of wood which eiicroachee upon any pub- lie sued,.lam-, alley, or place within the limits ol the eity of Savannah and hamlets thereof, shall be considered as embraced within the provisions of the fourth section of this Ordinance so long as such en croachments continue.-; that no wooden house, building, sited, or structure of wood, shall be repaired within the lire limits of said city of Savannah anc the hatulets thereof, unices permission therefor shall have been previously obtained irotn the City Conn ell, on certificate in writing from the Chief Fireman that such repairs will not amount to residing ol such house, building, shed, or structure; and that whenever and wherever the repairs upon any wooden house, building, shed or structure shall exited a moiety thereof, the same shall t-e held anil deemed and considered a rebuild ing under tins Ordinance, amf-the Chief Fire man is hereby prohibited from granting the cer tificate mentioned in this section; and if any person shall violate npy of the provisions of this section, he or she ou conviction b -tore tire Police Court, shall be fined m. the sum of one hundred dollars per day for each and ever^ day such house, building, abed or structure shall remain repaired, altered, changed, or improved in any way or manner whatever, contrary iu Hie provisions or this section.
