A N ORDINANCE entitled au Ordinance to alter and amend an Ordinance to change the manner of keeping the streets and lane* of the city of Sa- v innah clean, and to prescribe the duties of the Superintendent, passed Dec. 29th 1833. Sec l. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen of the city of Savannah, in council assembled, and it is hereby ordained by the sutho lty of the same. That irom and after the p ssageof this ordinance, the work of the Scavenger Department shall no longer be given out by contract, but shall be carried on under the direction of a superintendent elected by Council, and the whole expense of the same shall be oorne directly by the corporation. 8ec. 2.
