I The Pally ftewsanth Heraldr SAVANNAH, MONDAY, JUNE 11, 1868. inty b Vain. t While roam are «o red— While Ullles are so white— Shall • woman exalt hsr face Because it gives delight ? She's not BO sweet as a rose— A lilly's straigliter than she, And if she were as rad or White She’d be but one of three. Whether she flush in love’s summer, Or in its winter grow pale— Whether she flaunt her beauty Or hide it away in a veil. Be she red or be she white. And stand she erect or bowed. Time will win the race be runs with her And hide her away in a shroud. Miss Bosetti. She who sleeps upon my heart Was the first to win it; She who dreams upon my breast Ever reigns within it; She who rests within my arms Feels their closest pressing. Other days than these shall come, Days that may be dreary; Other hours shall greet us yot, Hours that may be weary; Still that heart shall be thy home— Still that breast tby bead shall pillow; Still those lips meet thine as oft Billow meeteth billow. Sleep, then, on my happy heart, Since thy love bath won it; Dream, then, on my loyal breast— None but thou bast done it; And when age our bloom shall change, With its Wintry weather. May we in the self-same grave Sleep and dream together. Official#— lEGISTRmWF^1866. CITY OF SAVANNAH, Omoi Cuu or<Cbraea. JoM % 1 SECTION 2.
