Newman, the successful teacher of vocal music, will give a concert at St. Andrew's Hall, on Friday evening next, on which occaaion several of his pupils will give an exhl- bition of their musical powers and cultivation, by a chorus of one hundred singers. From Florida.—The steamer Hslen Getty, Capt, Ingraham, arrived from Palatka yesterday morning, having a full compliment of passengers, and a credit able freight for this dull season. Purser Lake has our thanks for favors. Meeting of Council.—The City Council met yes terday afternoon at 5 o'clock, and adjourned to the same hour this evening. Hereafter, until the 1st of September, the regular meetings of Council will be held at five o’clock in the afternoon. Fine Florida Beef.—The attention of families is directed to the advertisement of Messrs. Tebeau & Pinder, who announce a supply of "best Florida Beef," at their stall. No. 9, in the market.
