Some of them agreed fully wiih the principles set forth and the necessity for a national convention, but others objected to the objects of the convention and tbs methods adopted for convening it. The discussion is said to have passed the bounds of ordinary animation and become fleeted and ill-tempered. The Herald’s Washington correspondent makes an astonishing exposure of the plottings of the rad - purpose of proving Jeff. Davis accessory to the murder of President Lincoln. He states that it was divulged during the holidays through the effects of Congressional spree-taking, and the disclosures made, although very wonderful and atrocious, hear the mark of truth upon them.
