magistrates who were engaged in the examination of
William Allen and Laurence Craney. one charged with
■id Steamers j the offence and the other accessory to the murder of

stated that they hail asked for time before giving
their decision, in order to examine the large mass
of testimony elicited on the examination. The evi
dence. he stated, had been .-arefnlly examined.and the
facts applied to the law, and the Court had agreed upon
the following as their derision in the rase :
State of Georgia vs. Wm. Allen, murder of Sampson
Whitflrld, person of color; and Laureuce Craney, ac
cessory before and alter the fact, in the murder of
Sampson Whitfield.

are natulence, a bloated and full feeling about the
stomach and abdomen Immediately after eating, a
gnawing sensation or a sense of hollowness at the
pit or the stomach between meals, a heavy dull feel
ing in the bead, feeble or unsteady appetite, occa
sional nausea, restlessness daring night and a weary,
tmrefreshed feeling on rising in the morning, palpita-
I tion of the heart, depression of mind, sometimes
amounting to monomania, hiss of memory, confu
slon of thought, sour stoftach, with raising of food,
and a choking sensation in the throat, dimness of
eye, pain in the diaphragm, feebleness and disincli
nation for exertion, and sometimes emaciation and a
corpse-llke pallor. These are a lew of the direct
signs of Dyspepsia, but as it i3 generally complicated
with specific affections of the bowels, the liver and |
the nerves, its victims have many additional torments
which are technically attributed to other causes.
The best advice that can be given to any one who ,
has the slightest predisposition to Dyspepsia, Is to for- i
tify his or her digestive organs by the dally use of ■
Hostetter’s Bitters.
The disease proceeds from a lack, of vigor In the
stomach, and this vitalizing preparation will tone j
and renovate that organ. If the gastric apparatus la j
in good working order, and can perfectly dlsaolve
and thoroughly assimilate the food submitted to It* j
operation, there will be no Dyspepsia. If It cannot j
do this, It requires reinforcement, and the beat of all ;
reinforcing agents slionld be forthwith resorted to. j
The stomach la the commissariat of the system it !
supplies the elements of life to the whole body, in ;
it Is prepared the material of blood, muscle, bone
•and fibre, and if It falls to purvey that material in ;
quantity, and of a proper kind, the whole body anf- :
fers, and with it the mental faculties Therefore pro j
tect the commissariat department. Don't let the en i
emy obtain possession of It. It is eas'er to prevent
disease from getting into an organ than to expel It!
after it becomes a chronic fixture. Consider the
first indication of uneasiness in the stomach as a
sign that Dyspepsia is prepariag to attack,’ and baffle
it at once with the ORB AT RBPELLANT.
But if It is too late to prevent, remember that It is
not too late to cure. It is believed that there la no
case of Chronic Indigestion that can withstand the
remedial operation of
Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters.
This belief is grounded on twelveyeais’ experience
of the efficacy of the preparation The first instance
of Its failure to give relief is yet imchronlcled. If it
ever had failed, the voluminous correspondence ad-
known on the day, This* June 20th, 1866.

It Is a great fallacy to suppose that the nanseons-
ness of a medicine is any proof of its valne as a res
toratlve The troth Is, that if the palate revolts
against a remedy, It cannot do much good.
HOSTETTER'S BITTERS
Are not unpleasant to the taste, and always soothe
and quiet, instead of irritating the stomach. Indeed
they are the best known preventative of and care for
nausea. Their usefulness as a family specific can
scarcely be overrated. For sickness at the stomach,
sudden spasms, wind colic, hysterica, nervous head
ache, lassitude, low spirits, and the thousand and
one little ailments that are continually occurring in
every family, there is nothing comparable to them. A
whole medicine chest fall of tinctures, essences, pow
ders, and pills, is not worth a single bottle of the
BITTERS in such cases.
