Dunbar & Co., 147 Bay street, wholesale importers and dealers fn brandies, whiskies, gins, wines, ales, cigars, Ac. This Is a naw Arm. established here since the war, but it haa suc ceeded far beyond the average of new establishments. It was started with plenty of capital, good facilities ter a constant and complete replenishment of atock, and with the determination to build up u good, safe and permanent bnstuess. with small margin for profit, as little risk as possible, and the security to regular pi- troua of every advantage they were able to afford them. The firm was liberal ill advertising, at the start and ever since, not only in Savannah, but all over the State, in South Carolina and Florida. The reanlt is, they have secured a large permanent pa. trouage in the city, and wherever they have attempted to Introduce their goods. They have several speciali ties, which they announce from time to time in their advertisements, and in all of which they have suc ceeded. Wo have known Air. Harvov A. Stults, the managing partner here, for several years, and can re- commend him as a man of strict busiueaa Integrity and much mercantile enterprise. Not only In this country, but In all other lands to which commerce bears our (lag. the peculiar merits of the article are known and appreciated. It has , been found suited to all climates, all localities, and i the needs of every class of society. Compounded of : the purest vegetable Ingredients, unalloyed with any mineral salt or corrosive vegetable alkaloid, and com bining the properties of a WHOLESOME STO MACHIC, a GENTLE LAXATIVE, and an efficient ANTI-BILIOUS AGENT, It Is endorsed by practical Chemists as the safest, and by unprejudiced physi cians as the surest Preventative, Regulating aud Restorative Preparation of tho age. The nature of Its components Is the guarantee of Ita harmlessnesa. It consists of the stimulating prin ciple of sound Rye, medicated with the finest tonic, anti febrile, aperient, anti-scorbutic, and anti-spas- i modlc herbs, roots and barks that botanical research i has yet developed for the use of man. Every vegeta- i ble substauce that enters into.Us composition Is I culled and selected with scrupulous care, anil no ; thing that Is not sound and perfect of Its kind is used I in Its manufacture. In the factory at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a sys- ! tem of Inspection f»r more thorough than that ' adopted by Government authority, as a test of the quality of the great staples of life, la rigorously prac- j Used. Every barrel or the cereal stimulant whirh | forms the basis of the Blttsrs is ascertained to tie ab solutelv pure before it Is received Into the manufac- I turlng department, and every leai and dbre oi the j medicating Ingredients scrutinized before the process j of Infusion commences. Such Is the euormougca-j paclty of the tanks In whlcb’tlie Bitters are prepared ] that the proprietors are enabled to keep a large stock {- on hand, and to supply the domestic ami foreign • market with an article matured and mellowed by lima. Hence the fiery and biting Savor winch at- ' aches to ordinary bitters, and which is due to their j newness and the Inferior quality of ibe drugs and alcohol of which they are concocted, is never per- i celved in this mild and agreeable preparation. Ac- J cording to the testimony of able chemists, the os- eencc of good Rye is the most healthful of all spirits, I and Hostettev’a STOMACH BITTERS Are the only Medicinal Tonic In the World of which tuaufiuld is the stimulating Ingredient. To Dyspeptic Smfferers. j Under the general head of Dyspepsia may be classed - all the varieties of Indigestion. Ita symptoms are 1 to various, and differ ao much in different individuals thstlt Ir almost impossible to classify them. In fact, some of them are utterly Indescribable. It may be ' safely asserted, however, flat ball tlie dtaeaeef or; mankind spring from a disordered condition of the | stomach; and that the other halt whatever their, origin, react upon that sensitive ami Important or , gan. Among the ordinary indications of Dyepepslfi' are flatulence, a bloated ami full feeling about the stomach and abdomen Immediately after eating, a , gnawing sensation or a senve of hollowness at tho pit of the stomach between meals, a beavv dull feel ing In the head, feeble or unsteady appetite, occa- • slouai nausea, restlessness daring night and s weary, onrefreahed feeling on rl9ingln the morning, palpita- i tlon of the heart, depression of mind, sometimes amounting to monomania, loss of memory, confu sion of thought, sour stomach, with raising of food. ' and a choking sensation in the throat, dimness of eye, palQ in the diaphragm, feebleness and disincll. nation for exertion, and sometimes emaciation and a corpsc-ltkc pallor. These are a few of the direct | signs of Dyspepsia, but an it Is generally complicated with specific affections of the liowVls, the liver aud , the reives, Its victims have many additional torments , which are technically attributed to oilier causes. | The best advice that can be given to any one who . has the slightest predUpoiifioii to Dyspepsi;', Is to Tor- j tlfy Ills or her digestive organs by the daily use ol Hostetler’s Bitters. • _*'■■** 1 Tli0 disease proceeds li°m a iacK of vigor in the : stomach, and this vitalizing preparation will tone | and renovate that organ. If the gastric apparatus is In good working order, and can perfectly dissolve and thoroughly assimilate the food submitted to Its operation, there will be no Dyspepsia. If it cannot I do this. It requires reinforcement, and the best of all ; reinforcing agents should be forthwith resorted to. : The stomach U the conimi*9ariat «>f the system, it j supplies the elements of life tiflhe whole body. * In If is prepared the material of Mood, mu3cle, bone and fibre, and if It fails to purvey that material in quantity, and of a propel kind, the whole body eul- fers, and with It the im nial faculties. Then-fore pro-! tect the commissariat department. Don't let the en •my obtain posseesion ol It. It Is easier to prevent | disease from getting Into an organ than to expel it , after it become# a chronic fixture. Consider the j first indication of nneasinesa in the stomach as a | sign that Dyspepsia Is preparing to attack, and baffle If at once with the (TREAT RRPELLANT. Bat If It ia too late to prevent, remember that it is j not too late to cure. It Is believed that there is no case or Chronic Indigestion that can withstand the remedial operation of AUCTION SALE! Oertainly this la a sufficient warrant for claiming that the BITTERS are a SPECIFIC FOR INDIGESTION IN ALL ITS VARIETIES. Hostetter’s Bitters AS a Household Medicine. It Is a great fallacy to suppose that the nauseous- nesa of a medicine ls any proof of Its value as a res torative. The truth la, that U the palate revolts against a remedy, It cannot do much good -, HOSTETTER’S BITTERS Are not unpleasant to the taste, and always soothe and quiet, instead of Irritating the stomach, indeed they are tha best known preventative of and curs for nausea. Their usefulness as a family specific can scarcely be overrated. Eor sickness at the stomach, sudden spasms, wind colic, hysterica, nervous head ache, lassitude, low spirit,, ami the thousand and one little ailments that are continually occurring In every family, there ls nothing comparable to them. A whole medicine cheat rull of tinctffrsa, csaences, pow ders, and pUla, ls not worth s single bottle of the BITTERS Id snch cases. Caution.
