Jmms Stevens, the chief organizer of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, issued the following important address last night: Fenian Brotherhood, ) Central Office, July 30, 1866. > Brothers—The Fenian Brotherhood, an auxiliary branch of the actual home organi zation, and subordinate to that organization, has and had for its object and duty direct as sistance to Ireland. Worked in strict accord, nnee with this, its sole leriiimaUi aim, the Fenian brotherhood will be of service to our e ase, but it mast be mischievous, and might big with ruin, if otherwise used. .Does not the inflexible logic of facts, known to yon all, speak trumpei-tongned in confirmation of thia truth ? True, when applied to any peri od of the organization at present, this truth has peculiar force and significance. For the day for which we have yearned and toiled through many years, is imminent and inevi table on this vital point, let no man be mis taken, or try and cloak bis motives nnd aims in a stimulated scepticism. We fight for freedom on Irish soil this very year. Mind, it is no longer a question of “ battle or dis solution.” I repeat, the men at borne have resolved to fight this year, and fight they will. Under such circumstances a solemn and glorious duty devolves on you- I will not ask are you willing to fulfil this duty and. redeem the name of Irishmen on this Conti nent, being every day more and more con vinced that yon are not only willing but de termined to do ao. You will not again allow yourself to be misled by false lights held forth to allure you from duty and Ireland. The straight road, in our case, is the true ooe home. Irish freedom must be won oc Irish soil. Yon wifi not look for aid to any Government till we at home are op in arms. Even then you will not expect wot#from any Government than recogiikHNi as a bellige rent. This will be amply sufficient for our ppsecto*. nod this, ooos we are holding our oariksbell be at once recorded. Could Re publican America do less for ns than mooar- cEical England so readily does for all the world ? Assuredly not. And tie look for bo more, freely as oor Mood has flown for these States. But if you hold yourselves of all Governments, how much more so must yon be a dependent of mere party. Our cause Is too sacred for the politician. You feel this, and you know him from sad sad hitler experience. Therefore, I need not warn you against those who, in the name of this party or that, and on the strength pf cl oudy promises, would gain your votes for the coming election. Thus to be won H bHaffiy to he sold. You are not Mind now; and eo'.When a man of life-long indifference to Ireland, oe of years of hostility to the present movement for her freedom, becomes suddenly enamored of oar cause, you ban fully estimate bis sincerity.. Oor work is for Ire mag, and not for tire politician. His hottest sympathy would freeze the Irish heart. Gftve Mm your support, and be atato your country. The Fenian Brother hood recognizes no party, ead renal be used by none. Therefore, I expect gnd Ireland expects, that no true patriot—no member of the Fen Iso Brctbeshood ■ will tend himself officially, or allow himself to be officially, .used.
