Business Directory.
Messrs. Dunkley & Woodman, publishers, New
York, have in course of preparation a business direc
tory of toe principal Western and Southern cities, a
work which is greatly needed by the business men
throughout the country, on account of the facilities it
will furnish them for mercantile intercommunication.
We have reliable assurances that the most unremitting
attention has been given to this enterprise by its pro
jectors, and that it wilf be as complete in respect to
fullness and accuracy as competent canvassers can
Itossibly make it. It will be not only a business regis
ter of merchants, manufacturers, kc., but a valuable
advertising medium, through which business houses
in the Southern cities may introduce themselves to
the public. ^
One of the agents connected with this project, Mr. J.
Butler, is now’ in this city for the purpose of soliciting
subscriptions and advertising, and we take pleasure
in commending him to the favorable consideration Of
our merchants and tradesmen.
