Linsky, who was charged with violating city ordinance, in throwing excrements from a third story window. Linski, who was unable to speak English, was inter preted, and stated that he had only been in the city thr.e days, and was unacquainted with the require ments of the ordinance. As ignorance is no excuse for a violation of the ordinance, he was fined five dollars A. E. Will was charged with improper conduct, tying his horse to a shade tree on Charlton street. Will stated that he was not to blame in the matter, as he left his horse in charge of a negro boy, who tied him to a tree ami went in to eat his dinner. Wills wm discharged and the colored boy ordered to be brought up. Ann bolding, colored, was charged with violating the city ordinance, not having her stove pipe erected in compliance with fire regulation s. As the evil had been remedied as soon as notified, the accused was discharged upon payment of costs. A mercantile firm on the Bay was brought up on the charge made by a policeman that some person connected with the establishment had thrown a paper full of rubbish on hi9 head from a third-story window, as he wig passing under the bluff. The policeman not being positive as to whether the window from which the dirt was thrown was Tccupied by the parties placed on the docket, the case was continued. Juhn 0'Flaherty was charged with attempting to shoot .John Hamilton. O’Flaherty stated that he had gone into the bar-room of Hamilton, and was refused liquor because he had no money. Some wrords en sued, when Hamilton got a club from behind the counter. O’Flaherty then went off, and returned shortly with his hand in his pocket, when Hamilton immediately went after a policeman, and had O’Fla- herty arrested, stating that he had abused him and brought a pistol to shoot him. As O’Flaherty is a very old and feeble man, and as he stated that he intended no harm, and furthermore on account of his former good behaviour, he was let off with a fine of three dol lars. Wilham Green (colored) was charged with improper conduct—sleeping in a building corner of Lincoln and Jones streets. Green stated that he had been locked out of his own house, aud rather than sleep in the streets, went into the building, but meant no harm. Fined in co*ts.
