STOMACH BITTERS
Are the only Medicinal Tonic in the World of which
that fluid is the stimulating ingredient. m
To Dyspeptic Sufferers.
Under the general head of Dyspepsia may be classed
all the varieties of indigestion. Ita symptoms are
so various, and differ so much in different Individuals
that it is almost impossible to classify them. In tact,
some of them are utterly indescribable. It may be
safely asserted, however, that half the diseases of
mankind spring from a disordered conditio* of the
stomach; and that the other half, whatever their
origin, react upon that sensitive and. important or
gan. \Among the ordinary indications of Dyspepsia
are flatulence, a bloated and (nil feeling about the
stomach and abdomen Immediately after eating, a
gnawing sensation or a seam of hollowness at tho
pit of the stomach between meals, a heavy dull feel
ing in the bead, feeble or unsteady appetite, occa
sional nausea, restlessness daring night and a weary,
unrefreshed feeling on rising in the morning, palpita
tion of the heart, depresslon'of mind, sometimes
amounting to monomania, loss of memory, confu
sion of'thought, sour stomach, with raising of food,
aud a choking sensation in the throat, dimness of
eye, pain In the diaphragm, feebleness and dlslncll
nation for exertion, and sometimes emaciation and a
corpse-like pallor. These are a few of the direct
signs of Dyspepsia, but as it la generally complicated
with specific affections of the bowels, the liver and
the reives, its victims have many additional torments
which are technically attributed to other causes.
The beet advice that can be given to any one who
has the slightest predisposition to Dyspepsia, is to for

The disease proceeds from a lack of vigor in the
stomach, and this vitalizing preparation jvill tone
and renovate that organ. If the gastric apparatus Is
In good working order, and can perfectly dissolve
aud thoroughly assimilate the food submitted to ita
operation, there will be no Dyspepsia. If it cannot
do this, it requires reinforcement, and the best of all
reinforcing agents should be forthwith resorted to,
The stomach 19 the commissariat of the system. Il
applies the elements of life to the whole body. In
it is prepared the material of blood, mnscle, bone
and fibre, and if it fails to purvey that material in
quantity, and of a proper kind, the whole body suf
fers, and with it the im-ntal faculties. Therefore pro
tect tlie commissariat department. Don’t let the en
emy obtain possession of it. It is easier to prevent
dise ase from getting into an organ than to expel it
•alter it becomes a Chronic fixture. Consider the
-ifst indication of uneasiness'in the stomach as a
sign that Dyspepsia is preparing to attack, and baffle
it at once with the GREAT REMNANT.
Bat if it is too late to prevent, remember that it Is
not too late to cure. It is believed that there ia no
case of Chronic Indigestion that can withstand the
remedial operation of
Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters.
This belief is grounded on twelveyeais’ experience
of the efficacy of tl»« preparation. The first instance
or its failure to give relief is yet nncbQmicled. If it
ever had failed, the voluminous correspondence ad
dressed to the proprietors from all part* of the United
States and South America, would at least include
one letter expressing dissatisfaction. But no, there
is not ON*. The testimony, extending over a pjriod
of more than a dozen years, is ail of the approving
tenor. Certainly this is • sufficient warrant fbr
claiming that the BITTERS are a SPECIFIC TOR
INDIGESTION IN ALL ITS VARIETIES.

AS A
Household Medicine.
It Is a great feilacy to suppose that the nauseons-

torative. The truth is, that if the palate revolt!
against a remedy, it cannot do much good.
HOSTETTER’S BITTERS
Are not unpleamnt to the taste, and always sooths
and quiet, instead of irritating the atomach. Indeed
they are the best known preventative of and cure for
nausea. Their useftamess aa n Itamily specific
scarcely be overrated. For sickness at the stomach,
