The proprietor of the Nrws and Hbrald
long regretted his inSbility to engage u

While publishing the Index, we believe his
Prices Current had much the largest circulsM

for its accuracy and general acceptability.

and fanatical Jacobins who rule this nation,
propose to erect that vast and valuable do

its heroic, cultivated, hospitable, and,mag

Austria is Tuouhle.—It is aDnounced that
Austria is at present suffering from tiie
troubles that always beset a nation in time's
of defeat. The Emperor Sods his Cabinet
constantly quarrelling, and the difficulties
caused by the many jealousies of races, that
the Austrian Empire has always felt, are now
yipfeased tenfold. . Austrian finances, too,
are in a bad condition. The Government id
endeavoring to negotiate Treasury notes arid
loans amounting to $245,0601,000, but the
various species are all at a discount, being
quoted at from 46 to 69 cents on the dollar.
In many quarters the people, impoverished
4*y the war; are demanding Government aid,
and $10,000,000 have just been appropriated
for the benefit oQbe Hungarians, whilst tho
Vienna tradespeople ask for $1,000,000.
