The former reveal what the lady will be in the ftitnre; the latter reveal what she is at present. —An editor if) Iowa has been fined two hundred dollars for buggrng a girl in church. He expresses his grief that he isn’t rich enough to pay snch a fine every day <n the week- f —Miss Fanny Forrest, a yonng lady of fine promise, niece of General Forrest, was so badly burned by the explosion of a can of coal oil at Hannibal, Missouri, on Monday night, that she survived but a few hours. —McCoole, wbo defeated Davis, tbe fistic champion of America, last week, has been cballanged by Michael Fitz Gibbons, of St. Louis, for $1,(X)0 and belt, the fight to come off on the 12th of October. —The laoguage of the 'rose of June is, “Well, I’m blowed;” of the asparagus in July, “Cut and come again;” of peas in August, “Shell out;" of the apple tree in September, “Go it, my pippins.” —It is stated that Hon- John A. Kasson has been read out of the party by tbe Re publican State organ at Des Moines, Iowa, for a speech delivered last week. He could not keep step with Thad. Stevens. - —The second frost of the season occuired on Sunday morning, in the vicinity of Syra cuse, N. Y., and proved fatal to tender vege tation. Some signs of vegetation are already apparent, some rank grasses and plants having started —On Monday, October 8, there will be partial eclipse of the suo, which will be visi ble in Mew England and in that part of the State of New York which is northeast of a line drawn on a map from the city of Roches ter to the light house on Fire Island, Long Island. This Eclipse will be the hut of tbe snn visible in tbe United States until the magnificent one of August 7, 1869, when the' « »adow of the moon will pass over and pro ace a total eclipse, in part of seven States.
