THE MARKETS.
Vor.K, Oct. 27.—There is much excitement
via .ug the Irish iu consequence of the conviction
Urana left Savannah on the 28th of September, in
liarge of Captain J. H. Bruce, her crew consisting of
seven men and one boy. There was one passenger.
Mr. William E. Wheeler, of this city. She waa loaded
with ^timber, and bound for Cardenas. Says Mr
Hiebfel: ^ *
Fair weather up to Mouday, October 1st, at 4 o’clock,
P. M., when it cummenced blowing a gale; sails blown
away during the night, aud all hands working at the
pump. Tuesday, gale still increasing; at noon lost
jibboom; at 4 P. M. cut away foremast—-all hands had
to take to main rigging lor safety—hull full of water.
Wednesday, at 8 A. M.. drifted on the Bahamas, near
Memory Rock; weather moderate. Thursday, a drift
boathove in sight, and the captain, with the aid of one
man on a small rail, attempted to pick it up. When
last seen they were near the boat. Lgy at anchor aU
this day. Thursday it commenced blowing; it again
increasing to a gale by night Friday, at 12 M., weighed
anchor and drifted into the gulf; continued to drift at
the mercy of tho waves for five days without food or
water.
Tuesday, 9th, buried first mate, Wm. C. Waters, and
one seaman* colored. At 12 M- this day anchored in
five fathoms water 25 miles soath of Cape Canaveral
Light, where each man constructed a raft, on which
he Rinded safe at 3 o'clock P. M. The survivors con
sisted of second mate , Gustave Hiebel, three colored
seamen, oue boy son of the chief^ mate, and Mr.
Wheeler, passenger. On the 10th insL we reached
Capt. Henderson’s fish camp, where we were very
kindly treated. Left Capt. Henderson’s on the 18th
at 2 P. M. on a small schooner belonging to Dr. Wes-
cott, andTarrived. at Sand Point on the 19tb. We
reached Deep Creek on the 20th at 6 o’clock P. M.,
having walked 25 miles. Here we met Capt. F. C.
Solee, who treated us very kindly and brought us to
Enterprise, where we were taken on board the Dar
lington by Capt. Brock aud brought to Jacksonville.
Mr. Hiebel tenders his sincere thanks to tho cap
tain and other officers of the steamer Kate for the
kindness with which he was treated by them during
the trip from Jacksonville to this port.

The extensive drug store of Yaryan $ Co., on the
corner of Cedar and Cherry streets, took fire, and but
a few minutes sufficed.to wrap the entire building in
flames from the basement to the roof. The saloons
adjoining, stored with large quantities of liquor, burn
ed fiercely, sending volcanoes of flame high into the
air, loaded with large cinders and fragments of *
