TBXnaDjfer mo: SOVEMBEB 8. f86rt. Cmlrinst'iltfi «%«>• ■* - Tin following resolutions have been Intro duced in the Vermont Legislature and refer red to the Judiciary Committee: Unsolved by the Senate and House of Rep resentatives, That law* ought to be in force iu all the United Slate* guaranteeing equal nnd impartial suffrage' without respect"» color. Resolved, That it is the duty of Cougreae to pas* laws giving this right in alt place* where it can be doue constliutionally. Resolved, That wo hereby request our Senators and Kepiesentailves in Congress to use iheir influence for the passage of a law Hivin': equal aud impartial suffrage In the District of Columbia at early a* possible-* i ho ui-xt session of Congress. Tnis is clearly siguifleant of the ultimate designs of the New England wing ot the Radii'd party. The proposition is here dis- tinftiv made for Congress to invest itself by usurpation with the power to subvert entire ly the sovereignty of the States for the ulti mate enfranchisement of the negroes In the South with all the political privileges hereto fore exercised by the whites. In the light of manilestations of this character, how tme i the remark of a eotemporary that the coun try ami the hope of liberty are in much greater jeopardy at tills moment than ever previously, ir this movement byiheYer mout U eislainre is successful, nothing can »n.e us Hum the horrors of a relentless des potism, unless something can be done tostay the rule ot fanaticism as it exists iu the ranks wt the dominant faotiou. Ft'.iAN CojauanetBS a Lm-wotn.—Tbe Leiidoa Times says that on the 18th of October a number ot magistrates and town conucHlors assembled at the Liverpool police station to witness experiments with a Fenian combustible fluid recently seized A portion of the fluid was poured on a quan lity of loose cotton and slicks, and in abont four minutes it spontaneously Ignited. A bottle containing fluid was then dashed against a wall, which immediately became a mat's i.f flame. The spectators were deeply impressed with the destructive quality of ilic fluid. Manv persons have doubted the existence ofa Fenian organization in Liver pool but tint police cases which ate coining i<> light will undeceive them. As an in statin' ot ibe marvellous uuextiuguisbable qualities of the liquid, we may slate that a short time ago Mr. Superintendent Hewitt poured some of it on cotton, wool, aod wood chips, and then placed the whole completely in water, where it remained for a week. It was then taken out and placed on the floor, and in five minutes bad hurst into flames. hstR«r Crowded with Success.—The floe cissimeres and cloths manufactured at the W oollen Factory here, have already at tained a reputation second to no establish ment ' f the kind in the United Slates. Although two sets of bands are at work, aud the machinery kept running night and day, the demand for “Tackett’s goods” is equal, aud rather above the snpply. Six iiuudred yards are turned out every day, but twice fix hundred will not mee*- the demand twelve monthajience. The indomitable firm have met successfully every exigency thus jjFTjar, aud we look forward to the doubling of q r tbeir hands and duplicating their Belgian y and English machinery at an early day. y Quiet'y,' unostentatiously, but persistently, -jitds film has gone forward, expending tens ’"‘•jot thousands before the revolution ofa wheel, t but iheir sagacity bus at last been demon- Jj; stinted by crowning success. The wool is msiuly purchased in New Or leans market, but we look forward to the duv when Virginia will tie able, iu a Urge SPdegree, to supply her establishments with IijIUi grown wool.—Fredericksburg Herald. "Who has Andrew Johnson puoished ?” a*ks'the Tribune. In its owu grammar, we reply: him hasn't punished Butler for steal ing pil'd in New Orleans, aud causing the deuth of prisoner*; nor Banks for stealing cotton.- aud disgracing his uuifoim by fl'ignuit misconduct in New Orleans. But them has been rewarded by Massachusetts with Congressional honors, which them de serve* just as much as the Tribune does a prise lor the use of the .English language.— .V. V.
