In this Ceurt yesterday there were but a few cams, and those mostly for drunkenness. One —— for being drunk at the Pulaski House oa Wednesday morning, and not having any excuse, wae fixed live dollars and costs, in consideration of this being his M. J. Oeady, evidently a stranger in the city, wae picked up in Bay lane, after remaining there an hour or eo. He told His Honor that he had nothing to ny, having no recollection of the affair, and waa fined two dollars and costs for his loss of memory. Another man was charged with drunkenne s in the atreet. The officer said he had heard the defendant in the atreet making a noiae, and watch being called for he hud arrested him. A witness was produced who said that he had tried 'o get the defendant to go home, but being tmable to do so and the defendant cursing him, lie (the witness) called watch and had him arrested. The defendant, iu answer to His Honor, Mayor Ford, said that he met a number cf men in a bar-room and got into a discussion. They being Re publicans and he a Democrat the conversation bad waxed warm and he might have said something out of the way. He was fined two dollars and coats. Edward Webb, a negro boy, and who is a pretty regular visitor at the Mayor’s levees, was brought up on the charge of larceny from the house. The officer testified to finding the boy running.and hearing some body call “atop thief,” arrested the boy. Upon searching him a key was found which fitted the wit ness's door. The witness, upon being examined, said the boy had come in and asked the price of a pair of shoes in the afternoon, and when he went out loitered around the store some time. Before shut ting up he missed the key out of the door, when he thought of this boy stealing, and seeing him pass a short time afterwards called to him, and not stopping he had the boy arrested, and upon examining him found the key of his door. He could not awear par ticularly to ttie key, but it fitted the door. Not wish ing to prosecute on accouut of the age of the boy, Hin Honor discharged the case by sending then urchin to the TJnited States barracks for five days. The St. Charles Haloon.—This saloon, situated in Bay lane, in the rear of the Custom House, and re cently conducted by Mr. A. Stamm, haa changed hands and i9 now owned and controlled by Messrs. Ruckert A Jacoby, and, from the character of the proprietors, parties may expect to be well treated. Mr. Stamm issues a notice to his creditors that he intends to leave the city in a short time, and would like all bills presented for settlement as soon as pos sible.
