Friday.—liuu change to note. Holders still firm in their demands, and buyers indisposed to operate. About 100 bales were sold. Saturday.—Advices from New York, indicating a more settled and active market, induced considerable inquiry. Buyers, however, were still unwilling to make any concessions, and only 150 bales were sold. Monday.—Coder New York advices of a decline in gold, the market opened with little demand for the staple. Before the close of the day'some few buyers came into the market, and 300 bales were gold at the figures of yesterday. Tuesday.—The news from New York being more favorable, holders teemed inspired with more confi dents) and indisposed to meet' the market.' Wednesday. —A better feeliug seemed to pervade the market to day, with some demand at a alight ad vance for the better grades. 3oO bales were sold, with no quotable change in prices. Thursday.—Thia day having been set apart by the Legislature as a day of humiliation and prayer, busi ness was necessarily very much curtailed. Some 2W) bales, however, are reported sold, at 32@33c. for atrict to good middling. Friday.—la spite of a better feeling in Liverpool, we get nothing but discouraging news from New York, and there have been few transactions to day. About 60 bales changed hands, at a decline on yesterday's figures, though many sellers are still holding off for a reaction In prices, and asking 31c. for a fall Sm of Liverpool middlings.
