Dear Sirs: Your favorof the 19thalk, asking me i give you the result of my exosrieuea is-toe use of the Eureka Aiumoniatsd Dune Super-Phosphate of Lime, came duly to hand. I used this Fer tiliser under cotton and as a tap dre-mug tor c-rn, uuder s f„w garden vegstablee and h-por. tion of my turnip crop. Witn ail thsss crops I found it acted as finely as the uanufaeturers’ claim lor it. With all the serious disasters that befell us this year in a protracted drouth and rust in oettou, my crops were largely augmented by its use. My coni crop, I am satisfied, was doubled by the applica tion, and had the rams continued o bare kept the manure diluted, 1 think it whuld have trebled tbs crop of corn on old exhausted laud. With it this ye ,r 1 have made enough coin for the use of my plantation, whereas I should have had to buy largely to have kept up the same worklug force next year. Its stimulating qualities were very perceptible in the raptd glowtn und early development oi all plants upon which it was used; and if it is the permanent Fertilizer Unit is claimed for it, aud doubtless it is, I would pnAhrit to Peruviau Guano or other fertilizers more volatile and costly. Comparing its effects upoii' toy ’crop with whst 1 witnessed of those manured with Parnnau Guano, I certainly am satisfied with its results—al though it needed the ruins to hava kept it diluted- and all the crops did not receive the full benefit of l$e application. If yon are enabled io turaiah me sen article auother year I would like to try it again. Yours, very respectfully, WM Ek JONES, Hkkndon, BurkeOo., Ga. July 24,1866. F. W. SIMS ft CO : Gents: As to the action of the Fertilizer, I have been highly gratified.. Its effects have been yen fffcj-, tlnct at every stage of the crop,' Olid its proprietors have Is-en peculiarly: fortunate In the production of a Fertilizer that is equally beneficial on corn aud cotton. It io quile stimulating and 'yet mild, possersiug the advantage of guoao (Peruvian! in the first, und superior io It In being free fro n the Heating, burning effect, so disastrous in a drouth. My experience is that this American gu t no is too slow m its acti ns lor corn, but i| is excellent for cot ton. This arise i irorn the fact that the Aluer.cau va rieties, as they are known, possess more of the phuu- pliatcs aud less of ammouia than the Peruvian. This account- for the quicker octiou of the Peruvian upon the crop, but the less permanent effect on the soil. What will be the influence of tlie Eureka remains to be seen, as tuis is my first year’s trial; but toy obser vation to far is, that no manure'can be happier iu Us effects on the crop at every stage of Us progress' Such I think, is the iinpres-ion of others who have tried it in this section', with whom I have conversed. I have only used it this yeuron-com add cotton, the yield of wulem I think, would hare been doubled and eveu trebled if the seasons ho^ been favorable.
