Tic counsel for the defence entered a plea that .county Court had no jurisdiction in the met er uq Tuesday the case was ably argued by M* J. i :i, Eeq„ for plaintiff, and R. E. Lester, for the de- :tc length of Judge Russell’s decision, and the pds of matter, preclude the possibility of our giving *nure; but the Judge held that a mere lease be- •nen tenant and landlord conveyed no title to the cl and therefore the County Court could take cog- —iEcc of the matter. He also held that where great : Lvimence is to result from a doubtful construe : ccf a law, that construction should be avoided, and ia the Legislature, being the creator of the law, -J modify or destroy. He therefore decided that . ' art has jurisdiction, and that the case proceed. Tit court was then adjourned until Friday morn- Larccny.
