Iu this Court, yesterday morniug, bfefore His Honor, jfivor Anderson, thorc were the number of cases of iniakeunesB generally found ou Monday mornings. jj, e g rs t was that of a young man who was said to cave been found at a late hour on Saturday night, lay- -u r on a stoop, in Bay street,. He said he boarded in Ibehouse, and failing to get in, and being tired, he tnougbt he bill a l ight to Jay there. In consideration uf his having been iocked'up since Saturday night, he wag let off on the payment of costs. Another young gentleman was charged with being r.u'-'ilistieally inclined on Sunday evening, iu South Broail street. The oliicers found him with his coat ofi mil ready to annihilate Somebody. The defendant peemeii anxious to have Something to say, and was at i«ii threatened with a tine for cootempt. When al lowed to speak, he said that he had been in a bar room ami taken a -drink, and when he came out was grossly insulted, for which he wanted to fight. He ru fined five dollars, and the house where he pro cured the iiyuor was wrdpred to be put upon the docket. Another young man, said to have been with the time crowd, was charged with being drunk and noisy about tile same time. He was fined five dollars, i sajlor, named Flaherty, belonging to one of the faded States steamers, was said to have been drunk :a Sunday. I*o did not deny the fact, but could not ivomit for it. He was, no doubt, another victim ^>1 iLi villainous whiskey to be had in some places. E. Leloon and John Augusta, two negro sailors, be- /•ngiug to one of the ships in port, were charged with being drunk and wanting to fight. One of them said they were not fighting, aud that he was merely trying :> jet the other man on board the ship, hiebard Baker, John H. Hopkins and John Holmes, tine negro sailors, were charged with being disor derly aud fighting near a bar-room in Bryan street. fLtiffcer said that when he arrested them one of the defendants said he was no Southern nigger; he was twrn under tlie British flag, and was an Englishman. He was also abusing and damning a white man, who Brroborated the testimony of the officer. They were -dered to be fined ten dollars each, or sent to Iho Imtcd States Barracks for thirty days. » E x ports. An efeer saw the negro with the timber on his back, and look him to a white man, who identified it. While the case was being heard the negro was apparently taken •.th a fit, hut one of the officers said ho thought it was ail sham, as the negro bad' before been in the barracks, where he played the same game and was ajeharged. Lieutenant Hell said it was almost impossible to keep this walk in good condition, owing to the negroes driving over it, following the old beaten paths. Adam said that bo was not to blame in this matter. He knew it was wrong to cross the path, but that his horse had broke from him and h» oold not control it.
