The Oeoigia Historical Society, of which the Bishop was President, wearing their badge and the Insignia of mourning, were in attendance In large numbers. After the service in the church, the prooeeaion wae formed, preceded by several of the ministers of the Episcopal church. The funeral was the largest that baa probably ever been seen In this city, and during its passage to the cemetery the people thronged the sidewalks and atood in mournful silence. The negroes, in the of their holiday enjoyments, ceased their sports and fell into the line in immense numbers, following that man, who in life they loved, and whose memory they revered, to his last resting place. Thousands jof peo ple wended their way to the cemetery, where the last sad rites were performed,of which a pleasing Incident was the beautiful chant by a number of young gen tlemen. Thus were tbo last honors rendered to one whose 1ob8 to tho church, to the country and society, can never be supplied, and whose memory will re-' main dear to all who came within the sphere of his acquaintance. Mayor’s Court. In the Mayor's Conrf, yeaterday morning, several unfortunates, who bad not controlled their desires on Christmas as they should, were arraigned before His Honor, Mayor Anderson, on the charge of drunken ness. Where there .was no real intention to disturb the peace, they were diiniggAd T. Burton and Charles Harris, for being drunk, and, in addition, disorderly in tho streets, were each flnsd three dollars. Charles Veraon,%r driving across the newly made path near the Barracks, waa fined two dollan. Adam Gain, for being drank and disorderly in the house of a witness, was fined ten dollars or to serve thirty days at hard labor. B. Small, a negro, for being drank in the street, waa fined five dollars or to serve thirty days in the JaiL Abe Harris, negro, charged with being drank and etriking a witness, was fined ten dollara, or sentenced to thirty days. C. Curtis waa charged with being disorderiy.ln the streets and refusing to disperse from a crowd of drun ken men. He was fined ten dollara or to serve thirty days.
