AN ORDINANCE
In feference to licenses to retail spirituous liquors.
sre, J. The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of 8a-
vaimah, in Council assembled, do hereby ordain,
That from and after the passage of thia ordinance
every retailer of spirituous liquoia within the corpo
rate. extended slid jurisdictional limits oi the City of
Savannah, shall hangup In a conspicuous place in his

retail; sod any such person foiling so to do, shall, ou
cunvictiuu,b« fined in the earn of not exceeding twen
ty dollar* for every dsy’a defoult; besides which, the
license of such person may be revoked and annulled
for the Second offence.

aforesaid. That so much or any existing ordinance as
requires a retailer of spirituous liquors to have over
the door, on the outside of the bouse or shop, the
words “licensed to.retail spirituous liquors,’’be and

To ref>3*l an Ordtaancu passed Oct. 31st, 1866, and to
revise the Ordinances in foro* m that bdialf prior
to the passing of said Ordinance.
Skc. 1. The Mayor and Aldennen of the cilf of Sa
vannah, In Council assembled, do hereby ordHn, That
an ordinance passed Oct. 31st, 1866, entitled *‘An Or
dinance to increase the number of measurers and in
spectors of lumber end timber aud to provide for
their appointment, and to conjBrm certain temporary
appointments already made," is hereby repealed; and
that the ordinances existing before the passing of said
ordinance are hereby revised and declared in foil
force.
Skc. 2. That the additional measurer* and inspectors
of lumber and timber, created under the ordinances
repealed as aforesaid, shall continue in.ofiiae until the
expiration of the term toe which they webe appointed,
to-wit: until tbe first regular meeting 8T Council in
Jaunary, 1867, when and after which the original or
dinances only, which were in force at the passing of
the above repealed ordinance,* sbaD be in force.
