Cotton.—The market to-day has been dull and
nominal. Some few Bales of lower grades have been
effected amounting to about EO bal a. Tbe reports
from Liverpool are very gloomy, throwing cotton to
arrive at 10*£; on spot, 19%. Tbit, in our opinion,
shows that holders have very little faith in the staple,
or'they would not sell to arrive at ££d, less tban upon
the spot. New York accounts show heavier sales
than have been {reported for apme time past. In tbe
same report per telegraph say that prices are weak
and quotations nominal. We areata loss to decide
if the heavy salea show that apinners entered the
market and took a few bales at whatever prioes hold,
ers were willing to take, or that speculators entered
the market Our opinion is that holders accepted
offers made by buyers, and that Monday will bring a
still farther decline.
