The trains of evening dresses are a little shorter

trimmed with a flounce fifteen inches deep, above
which comes a doable ruebe, also of tarlaiane. The
low, round bodice Is trimmed with a bouillon and a
lace border, with a bunch of white asters upon either
shoulder. But the chief ornament of the dress is
the sash. First them is w^tatbpnd ’ of torquolse bine

a small bertha and sash of white satin. Two tnlle

roses are placed upon the shoulders. Tbe coiffure Is
composed of an aigrette of roses, and a trailing
garland of bnds and foliage. Eitner. of toe dresses
would be a pretty toilette for a bridesmaid,. Wulte
muslin dresses are agalni vary; fashionable; they are
mure serviceable than tarlatan*, and c.-rtainly noth

A Good Refrigerator.—In thi< season of
the year one of the most essential requisites to the
domestic economy of every well regulated house Is a
good refrigerator, to which frceh provisions can be
’ kept not only cold, bat dry. In the quality ol dry
ness many refrigerators are so defective, that the
moisture of the air contained within them is con.
denied upon the lower part of tbe Icebox, and drop
down upon the contents, thereby hastening their
decay faster than if they were placed to fhb open air.
One of the best refrigerators, if not the vefy best la
the mstket, is that known as the “Zero Refrigera
tor,” manufactured by Alex. If. Essley.'605 81xth
Avenue, New York, which received the .highest
award of the American Institute—a medal and
diploma In 1867—«■( the first premium at toe Lon-

portable refrigerator, which can also' be used for
fruit and batter, and which may be kept to the dining
room, or to a sick chamber, and easily carried from
oils room to another.
