Dugas, shewing to the Court, that William Edmonson, on the 29th of January, 1824, made his certain Mortgage of that date to your applicant, whereby to secure to him the sum of One Hundred Dollars, on or before the 29th of July, 1824, he, the said William, Mortgag ed to your applicant the following described Tract of Land, to wit; lying and being in the County of Jack- son and State of Georgia, containing one hundred one and one half acres, being half of a grant made to Elisha Lake of two hundred and three acres, the half butting and bounding as follows: beginning on a w’hite oak corner, on the branch on Jonathan Smith’s line, running north east to a pine corner on said Smith’s line, thence South to a white oak cor ner on the branch on John Smith’s line, thence South west to a post oak comer on said Smith’s line, then<*e on Burgin’s line, to the beginning comer. Little, Executors of Asa Ayres, deceased TTPON the petition of Henry Hardin, stating that U he is in possession of bond, given by Asa Ayres to him, said Hardin, on the thirty-first day of October, eighteen hundred and twenty-two, for one thousand dollars, conditioned to be void if the said Asa should make good and sufficient titles to Lot of Land number one hundred and forty-eight, in the ninth district of Monroe county, on or before the first day of April then next; and it being stated and made appear to the court that said Hardin has paid the consideration money, and that said Asa depart ed this life before making titles, and a copy of the Bond being filed in the Clerk’s office of this court,— It is on motion, Ordered, That the said Thomas Payne, Joseph Dunlap, and James H. On receiving the several amounts advanced, I will immediately transmit re ceipts for the same. The numbers of all the lots ic each district will be arranged in regular numerical order, and the districts and counties in which the drawers resided at the tone they gave in their draws will be inserted in the Register. It will Be an exact copy of the Namerical Book nr the Executive De partment. The Printer assures me that he wili put the matter in type nearly as fast as t furofoh it* and he has already commenced. Che expense of the printing and manuscript is heavy, I solicit the active exertions of every one who feels interested in its success.—Lists of the quality of the land are already published, and these I will forward* on application, for $2 a copy.
