residue are in more retired .situations, and generally af
ford good building in a pleasant and growing part 6f
the Town.
Forty two gardening lots of 10 and 20 acres <a« h ;
laid out tiom 1 to miles distant from the tow n in two
ranges around the Western Common. Also, twenty-
eight lots on the Eastern side : that is to say, 4ol ttvi ii-
ty, 8 often acres, und 16 of one acre each. These last
include the place sometimes known as Newtontort;
and will be sold, subject to certain leases from thf Uni
ted State*, to expire next January.
The residue ol the lands iri the two reserves, are laid
in tracts «f 160 acres, and fractional pnrtsof such tiaets.

BRIDGE AT MACON, •
together with one acre of land t n the eastern side of the
Ocinulgee river, as one of the hutments ; and the privi

western baid: as may be necessary for the other but-
merit ofthc Bridge.
On Thursday the 23d of October, wo Shall proceed to
sell the swamp and bottom lands within the KcanVcs,
those on the western side first; and continue from tidy
to day until completed.
I bc particular numbers that will he sold on each day
cannot be specified ; but it is intended to put the seve
ral kinds and descriptions in the order here mentioned
The reserves are generally well watered and contoiu
several good mill seat*. The area of the whole cannot
be exactly known until tile platting is completed; but
twentu-onethousand acres in the estimated quantify con
tained in both Reserves and the adjoining fractions, ex
clusive ofthc town surveys. Perhaps no body of land
fo tho same extent can be found that embraces a grea
ter variety in it* surface, soil and timber.—Situated jest
in that region where the pine ofthc lower country chan
ges to the oakaml hickory of the upper; it includes both
these growths and soils in most ol their varieties ; in
some portions entire, in ofbere interspersed or blended.
Tracts of very hilly land, or that w hie n is quite level, oi
gently undulating, may be bad of almost every quality •
either of oak and hickory, or pine,or riverlands; ai d se
veral of these kinds occasionally united ; in tracts of
100 acres, and fractions of various sizes, adap'ed ta
most of the purposes for which land is wanted.
From the pressure of the times: and more especially
from (he quantity oflands and town lots, that will have
been lately in the market, these must unavoidably sell
low. And lying at the head of navigation, immediate
ly around the third town of the State in population and
trade, there is every reasonable prospect of their soot
rising in value.
Purchaser* have now an opportunity, and apparently
the la^t that will soon offer, of obtaining on cheap and
very indulgent terms of payment, choice situations for
residence, for trade or farming.
