1 of the Breed of Horses are now prepsiinga turf
uhout half u mile from Lexington, which will shortly
he com pit led, and have determined on the fust I ucs*
day in November next, for the commencement of tho
races. Owing to some subscriptions being yet ..ut,
the Association cannot determine the precise amount
of each day's purse, hilt cun venture to say, that on
Tuesday the first day’s race, a purso of from three to
four hundred dollars will he run for, three mile heats;
und on the next day a purse of from two to three hun
dred dollars will be run for; two mile heats. Both of
these races will be free for all horses: apd on Thursday
Ihe third day, a purse will bu mn for, which will bo
worth between two nnd three hundred dollars. This
race will he mile heats, best three in five, and will be
free for horses under live years of age, owned hr rill*

demy, Mr KIDDOO, declines continuing longer
than the present term in that capacity, the Tinsicev
are desirous of making early arrangements for employ*
ing both a male ami u feinule Teacher, to Ink* tho
charge ofthe Institution on the 1st of Januury, 1832.
They would prefer a married gentleman whose lady
might be w filing and competent to instruct in the Fe
male Department. The object of the Board is to oh*
fain the services of such persona as intend making a
business of teaching for a number of years Arrange
ments have been made for supplying the school with
Maps, Globe* and other apparatus ; and the Trustees
are determined to ufiord as great induccmontv^to par
ents and gunrdiansto patronize this seminary, as can
be held out by any other in this section of the country.
The Board would have no hesitancy in recommend
ing the village of Decatur in which the Academy is si
tuated, uh a healthy place; ami would Huy that no fcQra
need he entertained by those who have heretofore been
accustomed to a more Northern climate. Letters ad

county, Georgia, will meet due attention.
