The result is very doubtful. Moatuoaiery, Ala, July 14.—The Southern Rights Convention in tliis city, re assembled on Tuesday morning, and resum ed the discussions of the two resolutions re ported on the previous day. The debate continued until evening, when finally both series were laid on the table, and a commit tee appointed to interrogate Generals Pierce and Scott relative to their opinions on the compromise measures, the right of secession and other points of their political faith. If either party answer in accordance with the views of the Southern Rights Party in Alabama, he will receive its support in the Presidential contest. If the answers of both should prove unsatisfactory', the com mittee is authorised to cull another conven tion for the purpose of nominating a candi date for tho Presidency.
