A Relic of Uenl. Lee,
We were shown by squire A. J.
Farmer of Haralson county a shirt
worn out by Genl. Lee during the
war. The shirt is greatly worn, be
ing patched, here and there all over
it; thus showing to what circumstan
ces even our highest and most belov
ed officers were driven. On the right
hand Bide and on a line with the bot
tom of the bosom is bis name: Genl.
R. E. Lee, 0. S. A., which seems to
have been written by a lady. The
shirt indicates the neck to he largo
aud the wrists small. There is no
mistake as to its identity. It was
given to Squire Farmer by one of
the General’s daughters direotly af
ter the surrender. The squire says
he needs money but no man’s fifty
dollars can buy it.
