No doubt a man may think of a great multitude of experiences, good or bad, in a few minutes; but that the thoughts and smationi of a long life may surge through the minadnring tbe seconds •f asphyxiation are manifestly im possible. Admit that the speed of mental action is abnormally rapid at auch times, say twenty-five hundred sim ple cognitions n minute, or 160,000 an hour.
